    Thread: Peter Lik

    1. 09-10-2012 09:39 AM #1
My home has recently undergone a renovation and it's time to decorate. I have been looking at some of Peter Liks work and really like a few of them, mostly the forest shots where it's just a bunch of trees. I however would not like to spend thousands of dollars on them.

Does anybody know if he offers reprinted non originals of his work or where I could find something similar to his work?

      Thanks,

Sadly, this guy is the last guy I would ever recommend to anyone. He's been lying to the general public for so long, it surely must be verging on criminal.

Not sure you want to use his works -

      I appreciate the info.
As stated though I have no intentions of shelling out big dollars for his originals and really am only just looking for somewhere to find a similar type of forest scene photo or painting. I understand the agony his fraudulence brings to real artists who aren't trying to deceive. Thanks.

One thing to note, what makes Peter Lik photo's above and beyond is the quality of paper that they are printed on, and how rich the colors are and how they are effected by different lights in the room.

It's kinda crazy, some of his photos can look extremely different during the day and in the evening depending on how lights hit the photo.

That said, if you were to get a fake/copy/replica it wouldn't be as great as an original, that said you could probably find tons of just sweet landscaped photos from any photog that would work and look just as well if you were just after the nature/landscape type of picture for your wall.

Here's a guy you might want to look at: http://www.rodneyloughjr.com

He offers his images in multiple forms: original photographs in Limited Edition (spendy), prints (not so spendy), giclee (almost anyone can afford these), heck he even has posters of most his stuff at like $40.

      Put's Lik to shame.
