12v? I didn't think any GLIs came with the 12v, only 24v?

I am not to familiar with volkswagen cars but I am looking into a GLI vr6 12v and I have been trying to search around to see what after market parts are good and reliable. I am buying it used and it is coming with:
-HID headlight system
-Racing Coilovers
-Neuspeed short ram intake
-ACT race clutch
-Underbody skid plate
-R32 wheels with racing tires
-GLI side skirts
-GLI recaro seats
-AWE foot pedals
I would like to eventually add a turbo but am not to familiar with them. So I decided to come to you guys for help on what would be the ideal list but not extremely expensive. Please help a newbie out haha, thanks.

I thought so also but they only started putting 24v in gli's around 2003 i am pretty sure.

The 24v made it's appearance in the 2002.5 model year for both the Jetta and the GTI.

Oohh okay thank your for clarifying, so if i wanted to could i just do a 24v head swap and then it would basically be one? And plus what would be some ideal parts to make it faster i am not to familiar with brands.

No, you cannot swap the 24v head onto a 12v block. Easily at least. And swapping a 24v into the car will still not make it a GLI or anything near.
Head on over to the MK4 and 12v tech forums for more guidance.
