UM because I'm not a "fanboi." I really trust Jeff's work. More power with less boost and more linear/smoother delivery than APR? Yea that's there.

Other than that? I've lost respect for APR with their price gouging, ridiculous markups, and their representative on this forum trying to bash other tuners in their own threads. That's why I'm at Forge Twintake over VWR intake, Autotech hpfp over APR's ridiculous price for one, and UM tune.

Other than what's stated in my first "paragraph," I guess everything else is subjective/perspective.

I didn't go with APR, but most of that was for geographic reasons. I really wouldn't call their prices gouging. The VWR products cost as much our more in England. The software its very comparable.

Just installed APR RSC exhaust for my new 2013 Golf R with Carbonia Intake and finished it off with an APR Stage 1 ECU upgrade. I will get HPFP soon. The ECU upgrade is worth the money.

I am trying to learn more about UM and they have zilch on their website... a google search of "united motorsports golf r tune" does not even pull up UM's website. Is this some esoteric cult that I need to be initiated into to find out more about it?

I have Unitronic on my car but I didn't vote yet because I am switching. Their GTI tune worked great for me and I had zero complaints but I think it's time to see other tunes...

I was dead set on APR but now I hear of this mythical UM tune... need moar info!

Why don't you ask a UM dealer? They'll fill you in. Try Tom at ApTuning.

I have Unitronic on my car but I didn't vote yet because I am switching. I have zero confidence in their ability to tune a golf R. Their GTI tune worked great for me and I had zero complaints but it's a much different story for the R. For the love of dubs, please do not put a Unitronic tune on a golf R.

    Seriously, update your website, FFS!

i was only able to find a UM tuner by the grace of another member on here, abeR. he gave me the screen name of a guy local to me and i was able to get ahold of him and set up the flash. you can try to contact jeff on here. i think his screen name is something like jeffness or jeffness1.

I'm most curious about people's experiences and opinions about REVO and GIAC since they are the only 2 dealers in my state. Please share your thoughts.

I think it were you on the phone with Keir when I walked in to get my car thrown up on the dyno and the lift. I saw comparison of my car vs APR stage 1 on the same dyno and with the same downpipe. Let's just say you made the right choice

I'm Revo 2+ and love it. It's been flawless and I like the idea of switchable programs. I'm on vacation next week and going to run a 100 octane file while I punish her...

Got the APR 93 octane stage 1 program today. Very happy with it for sure! Actually my son went and got it done.......lol.......while I was at work. Some people might say "what? you let your son do it?) Well, he got rid of his 370 hp (to the wheels) eclipse before he went to Afghanistan, and now has a EVO 8. Sooooo, I trust him lol

Sounds great. Thanks. Revo is the only chip dealer in my town. Giac is 60 miles away. I spoke to our local Revo dealer today who recommended that I wait until the R hits about 5000 miles before stage 1. Since I've only got about 500 miles so far, this is going to be a little while. Love my R and looking forward to the boost.

im currently running apr stage 2 plus as it was the only software available in the beginning of march that i could find anyway. i called around recently to a couple of apr/revo dealers to see what they saw performance wise and they said they are about the same. they did say apr was smoother then the revo and i have heard and saw dyno sheets that kinda prove that. I will be getting the giac stage 2 plus extreme file when it comes out. i was told by them that they are getting 400 or higher in Europe hp to the crank with water meth. you do need a 3 inch intake w/maf and a rs4 fuel pressure reg but from what i have been seeing that should be making the most power when it is released later on this year.

I'm debating on waiting for 5k also. I have about 36xx or so on it now. If someone has a nice fall sale I may get it done early.

The results of this poll are very pleasing. Thank you for all the support! We'll continue to support the Golf R platform with several more products about to hit the market. You may see several of them at H2O international this year.

I'm parts hoarding. One more piece and I can go full-on Stage 2+, and the APR sale should get me what I need!

Very same situation. The downpipe is all that is left for me.

I will most likely be buying the APR DP with Cat and Resonator, since I want the exhaust as quiet
as possible, so I can hear more TURBO.

If you want as quiet as possible, you need to go with the APR TBE. The downpipe and stock exhaust will just make it louder. You want the RSC, which takes away all of the loud droney exhaust noises.

Yeah, I meant that in regards to just the addition of a DP. I 'think' APR's DP is quietest.
