Working on a 2002 gti and im stumped on a check engine light issue. I have checked and cleaned as many grounds as i could find and even replaced the the ground and power cables to the battery as well as the ground from under the battery to the engine. The check engine light, traction control light, and the epc light are all on. I bought the car with a busted trans and replaced it as well as the clutch and the only wire besides the ground on the top trans mounting bolt are the two plugs going into the trans for i guess the reverse light and speedo. here is a full scan after all the clean up of the grounds.

I would check fuses/relays/ignition switch/grounds/output charge voltage/battery health first.
Isolate all the current tracks with errors in WD.
Verify you have the correct air mass or OEM.
ECU could be damaged for short in obvious known OXS heater circuit issues.
READ TSB's and RTFB!
Don't BUMP!

sorry for the bump im just stumped with this car and im fairly new to the vag com system and only know the basics with it and am learning it as I go. Could you tell me what the WD is you speak of? Is there a way to use the vag com to check the signals to each of the components that have a short to ground code? Also when im watching a certain device like the o2 sensor for example how do i know what the perameters for that device are should I be able to find that info in the bentley? Sorry for all the newb questions im just trying to learn this as i go and would like to be able to use the vag com at its full potential.

WD = WIRE DIAGRAM
Yup, use the repair manual, or the VCDS balloons ( captions )
Use the RT website and wiki.
Also, watch the videos on the site.
