Does anyone have a 2013 VW that is equipped with both the rearview mirror anti dazzle and the side mirror which is also anti-dazzle?

I'm trying to find out if the 2013 rearview mirror is the same part # as the 2010 or not. I don't believe the 2010 anti dazzle mirror is equipped with the side mirror anti dazzle connection, so I'm trying to find the part # for the 2013 version to compare.

get any vw rear veiw with part umber xxx 857 511 B
you need to make sure it ends with letter 'B' which has extra 2 pins for auto-dazzling

you are lucky if you get one with same housing and same connector as yours
if not you need to do some modding
i found one B mirror for toureg but base was different

so i opened up both mirrors and found to identical board inside
mine (2013 CC) just has few components less and of course 2 pins less on the connector
so i just swapped the board

now i need to run the wires to the door
maybe i will post DIY on this later

now i am sourcing to have folding mirrors with auto folding (with remote)
when i am ready with everything i will open up the door panel and finish everything at once

Found these pin-outs. Wondering which are used for the exterior anti-dazzle control. Kind of confusing.

    Interior Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror Pinout

Exterior Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror Pinout (Driver's Side)

    Driver Door Control Pinout

    Big 32-pin Door Pinout

    FYI...

Checked 2010 Anti-Dazzle Interior Rearview mirror. I can confirm that the Pins 4 and 5 (EC + and EC -) are not connected and not part of the mirror itself, which would mean that the Interior Mirror is not capable of outputting the anti-dazzle to the exterior mirrors.

Interior Rearview Mirror will need to be replaced.

    Ok,

I believe I have found the correct part #s to do this Mod:

#1 You have to replace the Interior RearView Mirror as it does not contain the right pinouts to activate the exterior anti-dazzle mirrors.

The part # of an anti-dazzle rearview mirror which will mount to same factory mounts as the original is: 1K0 857 511 B

Available colors I believe, are only: DB9 - which is satin black

#2 - You have to replace the mirror glass itself. If you want both the driver's side and the passenger side to be anti-dazzle, then your only choice are the aspherical anti-dazzle mirrors:

    The part # for the LH side is: 3C8 857 521 C
    The part # for the RH side is: 3C8 857 522 D

#3 - I don't believe you NEED to replace the entire housing, but if you were looking to use more of the factory harness and not routing a bunch of extra wires, you could probably replace the housing. As a bonus, these new housings support both Anti-Dazzle AND motorized folding / Mirror Memory.

Actual description of the part(s) is as follows: "rear view mirror housing for vehicles with electrically adjustable rearview mirror, automatically dimming, folding, heating and puddle light.

The part # for the LH side housing is: 1Q1 857 507 AS
The part # for the RH side housing is: 1Q2 857 508 AF

    Hope this helps.

Do you need to run the wire from interior mirror to the door?

Yes you would have to. Both the connector (as you can see from the info I posted above) as well as the OEM Interior mirror are missing 2 wires which connect to Pins 4 and 5 respectively. Those wires will also have to be run to the door.

What I need to check and see is if on the driver's side wires have already been provided from the door to the mirror. Outlook is doubtful, however, apparently they did that on the MK5s.

Irregardless, you'll have to replace the interior mirror, exterior mirror(s) glass, and run 2 wires.

    yes
i replaced board inside of rearview mirror with B version so now i have extra 2 pins
i bought whole side mirrors used with power folding, heated and auto dazzle (on driver's side only)
so i already have wires from mirror to door module on driver's side
and i ran two wires from the rearview mirror to foot panel on driver's side

now do i need to insert wires to the door connector? or just run trough the rubber tube?
then i should connect those two wire to #24, #25 on the door module connector
doesn't matter which one goes to #24?

also i have one question for you since you have source to diagrams for connectors
on another thread i posted question about the door exit light
on your diagram of 878/7, i noticed that there are pins for front entry lamp on #18, #19
but also i noticed that there is pin for driver door warning light
i don't know if warning light and entry light are same

as written on my thread, i can not open my rear door modules
so i can not set door entry ( or exit) lights on
but i found rear door warning light on different module
maybe if there is pin for door warning light on connector of rear door module
i can try to use it instead

can you post image for connectors on rear door?
    thank you in advanced

Actually, I think it's pins #8 and #16 on 878/6, as the specifically say Supply / Return for Auto-Dimming Exterior Mirror ?? Maybe not. I'm trying to do this mod now, but I'm having a hard time finding a place who will sell me the parts. On the ebay.de site, I can find all the parts, but unfortunately, I don't speak German and I can't find anyone yet who will ship to the US. I need the new Interior Mirror and I want both sides for the glass on the exterior.

Any chance you know where I can get the parts from since they're "international" parts? I know they used to be up on worldimpex.com. Now I can't find them.

As for your other diagram. I'll post that up separately.

    hey

    thanks for the image
what year is this manual for?
    i had 2010 CC and now 2013
it looks like right connector with 20 pins

i installed door exit lights on my 2010
it uses pin 6 for + and 18 for ground
also door handle lights use pin 4 and 17

on 2010, pin 4,5,6,18 were empty (17 was already occupied with ground wire)
pin 4 had to activated via vagcom

    now on 2013
pin 4 is occupied with light dimmer (to illuminate the window and door lock switch)
so i tapped it to door handle led
but on the image above pin 4 says it is for child safety lock switch?
and pin 6 is not known??

    i am kind of lost
