I would like to put Hogue Coco Bolo checkered wood grips on my P229, however I would like to carry the gun daily. I am not sure if these wood grips would be slippery? Perhaps a pair of G-10 checkered grips? Anyone have any thoughts on carry with the wood grips?

I had wood grips (forget what brand) on my P228 and they were just too fat for my liking when I carried mine (and were too slippery). Mind you, these were burlwood grips that didn't have any stippling or checkering on them. I always wanted G10 grips but I never keep guns long enough to warrant the cost. I was very happy with Hogue rubber grips (says Sig on them) without the finger grooves. They were slim but had the grip I was looking for with both my iwb and owb holsters. Those G10's are dead sexy though.
