This year's Annual Sonoita/Gonia Group Drive will be Saturday, Oct 13.

Depart Carls Jr at 10:00a, picnic lunch at the park, and final Tucson checkpoint is HotRods Old Vail?

AzH20 already has about a dozen cars planning on going. Anyone else is more than welcome to join!

Updated map from minutes ago, based on everyone's suggestions:

As always, this is a friendly cruise, no racing/speeding/hooning will be encouraged. Those wanting to carry more speed through the corners are more than welcome to stick to the front.

Should be in. It's about the only time I get to see all of you fellas, and it will be nice to meet the people who didn't go last year.

    My favorite pic from tomytum:

Just curious though, last year we nixed the I-19 part and just went down and back through Sonoita, are the MK1-2 guys cool with doing 75 for an hour?

I was gonna say the same thing. Last year we went straight out and back on 83.
We used to take I19 to get rolling pics though. I'm ok either way.

    See you all there.

I can update the map or remove it all together, doesn't matter to me. I remember a lot of the fun twisties between the park and Nogales in years past -- did you guys hit those last year?

We did not go to Nogales last year. It adds a few miles and some time too. That means less time for chilling. But I think we can manage either way.

You can tell the map is old as Alvernon/River isn't connected

now you mean if you can get it running and keep it running.

this is about 3 weeks away I think. Lets get 15+ cars and people for this. Its such a nice drive and fun time with family and friends.

Is the rule that you aren't allowed to come if your previous vehicles have ever been photographed in a group drive?

    so many new cars....myself included

I think Hot Rod's is a great idea. Map location is a little off, but no biggie. It's actually north of the freeway off Houghton, almost to Rita Ranch. Looking forward to it

*Edit* It looks like it's "hot boat night" starting at 7. We'll be there quite a bit earlier than that, but could be interesting I can't imagine they won't have room in the main parking lot for us when we get there though. Their dirt lot is the devil.

I figured we'd be in Patagonia around noon at the latest, which would mean we'd be back to Hot Rods maybe 2pm-3pmish, which is way too early for dinner.

Tucson Meet Yourself is that day too if you guys have any interest in that. I've heard it's good family fun.

Looks like we should be right on time for the Busted Cowboys at the fall festival!

    http://www.patagoniafallfestival.com/schedule.html

Which means parking might suck, but there will likely be more to do and more food vendors likely too.

There is no "club" in the sense of a hierarchy of people and paying club dues but we do have a pretty tight group of people here with 2 different meeting places/times.

    See you guys Saturday.

Yup -- anyone who owns VWs or other euros, or has ever owned and can commiserate, is more than welcome to come hang out. Friday nights 8pmish at Starbucks at Grant/Swan, or Sunday nights at In n Out on Cotaro 7-pmish.
