Thread: FS: VW Fox Crossflow Turbo Setup $500. Must see to believe!

  1. 09-15-2012 09:32 PM #1
Hey, guys, I'm back to sell a few items I have had sitting around for a while. First will be this turbo kit. I had to buy this turbo manifold and turbocharger from a friend who abandoned project.

The exhaust manifold is all stainless steel, welded by a former Fox owner-friend in Quebec. The welds are truly professional, and I know a thing or two about welding. The manifold has never been used, only mocked up on a car. It is an excellent fit in a VW Fox.

The intake is my own creation. It is designed to fit in the VW Fox with the radiator rotated a bit. It's very smooth inside and should flow well.

The turbocharger is a T28 unit from a Sylvia. It is used, but in excellent condition. This is a very capable and quick-spooling turbocharger.

I will supply a good crossflow head if the buyer wants it. Buyer pays shipping. I'm pricing to sell at $500. That is a very good deal. Please don't offer anything less.

Thanks, guys. I had to buy out a friend's turbo project and am just trying to get my money back out of this. Listed it on ebay. I'm listing other Fox items as well. I need to clear some space and make some money for upcoming projects...and bills.

Ttracing83, you need to clear your message cache. Vortex says you can't receive any more messages until you clear out some.

Free shipping if sold this week.

    Seriously!

Will the exhaust manifold clear the intake manifold if used in a counterflow setup? How about the AC compressor?

I can't remember, but do you live in WI? I have a friend in the south suburbs of Chicago. Don't really have the money to swing right now, but if somehow it's still available in a month or so, I might cave in.
    I really suck at smog.

Sorry Ziddey, but it's mine bro!

Counterflow wont work for this setup. I'm going with Jon's crossflow head on top of my aba block.

I'm going to have to make my own coolant hoses since the crossflow head has them coming from the rear of the head.

I'm also going to be converting the wagon to mk3 motronic. I love CIS, but too many issues arise with it using this setup. First off, the injector lines will be too short. Second, the turbo has to go where the fuel distributor is. ANd from what I've been told, motronic is much easier to tune.

So now I'm just saving up my moola for forged pistons. I'm really considering going with the 8:5:1 techtonics ones for the ABA. Opinions?

The wagon will be pulled into my friends garage soon to do the dreaded heater core. It will probably stay there for quite some time during the turbo build as well. I will be starting a build thread when that time comes.
