I'm looking for a aftermarket parts distributor and installer in socal. I am specifically looking to purchase and install some UM parts. Anyone have any prior experience with a tuner who's genuinely enthused about these cars and not just a mechanic who happens to distribute parts?

i dont know where you are but there is 3 shops in vista oceanside area that i would recommend...

1.dynotech motorsports...bmw's are their specialty but they are pretty good with german cars in general and todd the owner is a cool dude...they have some super douchy employees not gonna name names but todd is rad.

2.oceanside motorsports, again somewhat bmw oriented but jake is a tech there and he helped my homie cole build a mk2 cabby...and they did air install for a mk4 recently

(sorry for all the bmw specialty places i just converted to vw, ive had 4 bmws..2 e30s an e21 and an e34)

and last bu8t not least..SAE motorsports..this is a new shop but its opened and run by alot of the guys from the recently decest group5 motorsports....they should be able to help you out...will and chris are great dudes

    hope that helps man

You should probably also check FourSeason Tuning (http://www.FourSeasonTuning.com).
They're the local UM dealer, so they should be able to help you out. Real nice guys too.
