Thread: Hood paint colour options

  1. 09-16-2012 09:54 AM #1
Picking up a brand new MK4 Jetta hood and front grille with black primer on it. My MK4 is black and plan on painting the hood with a spray can. What colour do you suggest I paint it? Should I go with a gloss black and try and match colour as good as I can or go with a different colour?
    What do you think?

Suggest not spray caning it, it's one thing to spray can trim pieces or texture, or even a set of wheels if your trying to keep costs down on your car but a hood is too big to achieve anything close to nice with a spray can not to mention stone chips happen very quickly on hoods and front bumpers once it chips it's gonna continue to peel, if your trying to keep costs down and still achieve a good look I suggest prepping the hood yourself and taking it to a Macco or other discount body shop and have them spray it. Being a black car it's easy to panel paint and you shouldn't have any color match issues
