    I've got the following:
    VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

Control Module Part Number: 037 906 258 AE
Component and/or Version: MOTOR PMC 4
    Software Coding: 0261204018
    Work Shop Code: 2227355905
    2 Faults Found:
    00281 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68)
    27-00 - Implausible Signal
    00513 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28)
    03-00 - No SignalVAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

I got this same fault years ago.... and if I recall right, all I did was buy a 095 927 321 C
from the dealer, and that fixed the G68 issue.
My question is... why does this fault show up under the Engine scan, and not the tranny scan of vagcom.

Also... should I buy another sensor and just move on?
    TIA

I cant answer your question, but I have a question for you. Is the code NOT in the trans controller also? If not maybe you should focus on your engine speed sensor code first.
Auto trans fluid change or flush will not make a trans fail. Stop spreading the wives tale/urban myth.

I can double check... but when I scan the trans, no faults come up.
Scanning the engine module gives the faults listed above.

I know G28 is the RPM... and that is fine.. the engine was off.
G22 is the sensor for the Speedometer.

I could clear the fault... and unplug G68, and then see what fault I get then.
    (After a drive).

    sounds like a good plan...

OK, so I unplugged G68 on the tranny... (2 wired sensor under the battery tray)
Fired up the car, and VAGCOM,

Control Module Part Number: 01M 927 733 BA
    Component and/or Version: AG4 Getriebe 01M 2296
    Software Coding: 00000
    Work Shop Code: WSC 00000
    1 Fault Found:
    00281 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68)
    03-00 - No Signal

This now showed up when I scanned the tranny.... not the engine.

Plugged it back in, and the fault clear.... never came back.
    Neither did the other fault....

    00281 - Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68)
    27-00 - Implausible Signal

I drove around for a bit, but got no fault. The "implausible signal" may take a while to show

I only decided to scan because my tranny is running like crap.
If I gas away at a nice moderate pace, it's more likely to just start reving up.
And it will rev up to 5,000.... 6,000 no problem.

But if I gas away with more aggression, it shifts fine.

When I unplugged the G68, the car ran great... But.. the shift point was at 4,500 to 5,000.
But I could excellerate slowly without it just reving away.
Plugged G68 back in, and everything went back to last condition.... the reving issue.

This tranny is giving me a head ache!
I think it may be best to get another. Decal in trunk says I have an APE.
But I should confirm on tranny.
    Car is a 95 Jetta, 01M, OBD1
