I think it's time to put this horse to pasture, though. I've had enough of JJ's blind alleys and dead end plot twists for this go-round. But I'd like to see things wrapped up.

Hopefully he does a better job at it than Chris Carter.

Disclaimer: I never saw a single episode of Lost, so I have no idea if that show ended satisfactorily or not.

Agreed! Its as polarizing as the Sopranos ending. I LOVED it... but many hated it. Trailer looks cool.

I saw an ad on TV that said fringe is reborn on the science channel beginning November 20.

I imagine this means they'll be airing all past episodes.

    pretty cool.

I take it there won't be stand-alone monster of the week episodes since they have to defeat the Observers in a half-season.

Yeah, I'm thinking this season may be a little weird/different.

Of course, they said in the trailer that they were going to have to create some fringe events, so there could be some "monster of the week" type episodes when they do that, but it will tie into the storyline more than usual.

Aw man, I hope we're not going back to the Walter not remember anything again. At least the end scene does show him looking like he's remembering through listening to music.

Also, I'm really tired of TV shows using Nazi inspired looks whenever there's a post-apocalyptic future taken over by a evil entity. I.E. giant posters/flags on buildings, Nazi-like uniforms, red white and black symbols, etc. SO cliche.

    "Resistance is futile.", huh?

I wonder if JJ is giving us a hint about the next Star Trek movie. I know that Benedict Cumberbatch is rumored to play Khan, but that line seems like something he'd do to as an inside joke.

He was TOTALLY paying homage to Star Trek with that.

Liked the first ep... like the flash forward to the new reality. Cant ****in stand the Observers. I hope the Fringe team takes em down.

Loved the final scene with Walter in the abandoned taxi.

Yikes!!! The scene with Desmond's head in the lab was just creepy!!!

I'm gonna guess and say that we'll see that Loyalist guard again in a future episode.

Kind of seems like the rest of the episodes will be spent looking for tapes, leading up to the final episode where they put it all back together and rid themselves of the observers.

Wait a min.. in the previous season, I though those trapped in the amber sees everything, but just can't move? They were still mentally aware. Now all of a sudden it's like suspended animation, where it seemed like a few months ago for those trapped in amber. Am I recalling this wrong?

I still like it, but it does seem to be suffering from truncated narrative - to wrap the show up, they're moving through things at hops, skips, and jumps, so it feels very abrupt. I liked last ep's interplay between Olivia and Etta, though personally I agree with Etta. It's similar to the Batman/Joker conundrum - it's all nice to say Batman won't kill, but then he's got to bear the responsibility when the Joker does. It's easy for Olivia to say "aww, you guys shouldn't be so ruthless" but when a bunch of Etta's friends are wiped out because they let a loyalist live...

I'm really enjoying this season. I'm glad the writers and characters get a chance to wrap things up.

good episode this week, but I was really disappointed they killed off Etta, she was becoming one of my favorite characters and she was kind of crucial to this new story line.

Fortunately, I had already seen it, but you need to put a spoiler alert in there for the folks that haven't.

That was certainly a WTF moment though. Guess they have the original gang back together and there are only a handful of episodes left, so why not.

x2! I was shocked, and saddened. I liked her character and the Peter relationship to her. Time to make those bald bastards pay.

Looks like from the preview for next week's episode, Peter is gonna try to do a Walter to "bring" Etta back.

But I think Walter will slap some sense into Peter telling him that this whole mess happened b/c of what Walter did back in the day.

Maybe this is the steroids they decided to give to Olivia to go ballistic on those bald bastards. You can see it in her when she took the necklace from Etta. I foresee Olivia going Super Saiyan (developing a new ability or stronger telekinesis type of power to unleash onto the observers. Or perhaps she's the key to getting rid of them..)

Hopefully they'll somehow bring her back and in the process do some serious as kicking.

On a different note, how the hell do these bold basters reproduce? I have yet to see one female amongst them which would explain why they are all so uptight.

Remember, they are future humans that have found a way to transcend time. I'm sure they could figure out reproduction.

I'm hoping it gets better starting tonight as they start unleashing fringe events on the Observers.
