Manfrotto or Calumet has good light stands. If you are worried about wind, then there are C-stands and rollers. Either-way, you should look into sandbags for any and all of your lights.

I just ordered me some Alien Bee Strobes and i am looking for some good Sturdy light stands to hold them up. Currently have a few off brand (cowboy Studio) light stands that i used for my off camera Flashes i used along with my umbrellas etc. The issue with them are they are cheaply made. any slight wind blows them over i do a lot of on location shoots so i need something thats good for out doors as well as indoors.
i would also not like to spend a arm and a leg for a light stand or two

Two things I always look for:
1- How sturdy they are. Can they be fully extended with head attached and not feel like they're going to fall over?
2- Air-cushioned. Countless times, myself or my assistants have turned the loosen knob without thinking during a quick take-down and the heads would have come down hard if it were not for all of my stands being air-cushioned.
And yes, definitely buy yourself some sandbags. Work-out weight bags work well too (those bags you can fill with water or sand or whatever). Anything that you can throw over the lower rungs of the stand to keep it in place.
