Not too much progress this week but picked these up today. plus I made the A pillar and a bunch of templates. More pics to come.

Pretty stoked on the price and condition. Still researching what their origin is but they are 15x8 et 40 which seems like it will work well.

    Cheers!

Let me just say, in response to people comments that I do care about what you have to say. Never said I didn't. Just not up To hear the regular bevy if negative nancy bs that can abound in the mk1 world. I know, I have seen it. That's why 99% of my contribution has been in the dope shizz thread of old. So positive contributions welcome. No need to pull my dick, just be cool. The reason I've been building vws for two decades is because Vw people and cars just rock!

you got my respect for trying to save it, lots of work.

my girlfriend nancy is not negative about it either, you can buy a complete tower nos from volkswagen instead of trying to repair to much if you would consider it.

Hell yeah bro! Pull away! Just dont stop...

    Quick pictorial update

These are last weeks photos, so I am on to the next, but should give an idea of where I started. JB weld be damned! Looks like I will be making a few panels here and there Nothing like hand shaped steel to brighten your day

Current status: both rockers fitted and floors cut out. Drivers B pillar is shaped and ready for door fitment and after welding. Shaping piece work to come...

And side note, Squirrels suck! ****ed up both my jap'olanterns, one was dragged a few feet away and eaten the whole face off. Sonofa ****! at least I got to make my home made seeds before. HP BB gun is now cocked and loaded!!! bring it, you garbage can critters!

Sweet. The panel work you are doing looks awesome.
On one hand it sucks to have to do so much panel replacement. On the other hand it gives you the opportunity to really smooth a lot of lines. Doing a totally shaved bay would not be much more work and in some places less.
So many people search high and low for rust free cars only to tear them down and cut tons of metal out and refab. Wouldn't be that much more work to start out with one that has cancer.

With the squirrel effect bb's. That's why there are 22's.
