Thread: Who is the go-to VW sales person in the valley now?

  1. 09-19-2012 12:20 AM #1
I'm in the market for a new car soon. Undecided on purchase versus lease I haven't bought a new VW since '05 and need a good sales person. Do you guys have anybody you'd recommend that will cut straight to the deal and not waste time with BS?

Preferably someone who doesn't act offended when I'm aware of invoice pricing, or act as if lease numbers such as residual value & money factor are proprietary info.

San Tan is the most convenient to me in terms of location.

Do not want to support Berge.

Just finished a GLI purchase with Larry Miller in Avondale. 22 minutes and the deal was done. Dudes name is Justin and he didn't bull****. Sat me down said this is what I can do for your trade, this is what I can do on the car, and ended up as long as your credit is good with a .65% interest rate. Which nobody else has available that I know of. Right now I would say this would probably be a good place to start

Stay away from Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale. Freaking shady **** there. They sold a car out from under me that I was working on a deal on. Tried to low ball my trade under specified deal with their internet manager, then on top of that tried to tell me that it would cost another 1k to transfer a car that was 30 miles away. After my purchase I actually sent them a picture of the car I purchased just to give them the finger for the bs they tried.

Thanks... I know for a while Justin @ Chapman was the forum guy. But it's been well over a year since I've heard of anything.

I do know Chapman service seemed to go down the tubes a while ago.

He's no longer there. Actually I was there like over a year ago for something and he was gone. Nobody would tell me anything it was like it was some conspiracy or something.

I am not sure if Tukk at VW North Scottsdale is still there? He was the internet sales manager and hearing from other people with their past experiences, he was pretty good.

Just my personal opinion, but stay away from Camelback VW's used department. I drove over 3 hours yesterday to purchase a GLI from them, I had been emailing and talking on the phone for a week, had them run my credit....called before I left yesterday and talked to the salesman, told him what time I would be there to check out the car.... arrived and he told me it sold the day before... I have no respect for "Steve Cox" at Camelback....

Last year when we bought our Wolfsburg Jetta we got it there, and when I went up to see it it had a huge key scratch across the back quarter panel. It had apparently been from the people who were trying to buy it just before us the same day. I guess they weren't satisfied with the treatment either. We had our own mountain of problems after that with the dealership, but it was mostly due to the shady finance guy they had at the time.

I can understand, but if there wasn't a deposit versus a "sure thing" there on the lot, I can't blame them in the cut throat industry. Does that make it right? NOT AT ALL, but many sales people are all about the sale and screw the relationship or long term!

He could have at least told me it sold before I loaded up my two kids and wife to drive up to phx, thats what I was pissed about. If he would have just said it sold, then I would have probably ended up buying a car from him eventually, he seemed like a good guy until this happened.

Steve was a good guy. He worked with us until after 9:00pm buying the GLI. He probably went home and forgot to call. That's not an excuse, but he probably just spaced it.

He stated he called the day he drove up there and talked with Steve. Somehow Steve seemed to have forgotten he sold the car the night before? I highly doubt that. More than likely he hoped once he said the GLI sold, that you would want to buy something else. After all, who would want to drive 3 Hours (each way) just to leave empty handed?

My wife and I had a US Car Sales dealer sell a car out from under us while we were in Germany. We waited a few weeks for it to come in and when we went over the day it was scheduled to arrive, we were told it was already sold. That was on the other side of town and we were pissed about it. Took the wife almost 5 months to even go back and look at another VW.

No he said he called the day before. If he would have checked again the day he drove up there then maybe his salesman would have told him I was about to buy it. Unfortunately, it's a ****ty situation but a car being sold before someone signs or buys it is just a shopper.

SanTan VW is my go to dealership... They were able to get me a 5.49% interest rate with horrible credit and this was after another dealer took a car I purchased back for not being able to get financing.

I worked mostly with Seth Madderson who was awesome... and also worked a little bit with Jack (who I forget his last name) who was pretty cool too.

I would definitely say they are the GoTo's.

OP here... I ended up going with Jack Rasmussen @ San Tan VW. Great buying experience. He's not a high pressure guy and the deal was very good. Christian in finance was excellent as well. Normally the finance office is the worst part of the deal, but that was not the case at all.

Yeah, stay away from berge, bought my bunny in 07, saw the window sticker on the car and stuff and didn't think that it could be for a different car, didn't give it to me when I bought the car, went back asking about it, gave me the runaround, I did some digging around and found out that my car came with rims but someone wanted those rims on another car so they swapped steelies and put a bunk sticker on the car and still charged me for with rims....

AND when I went back for the airbag TSB they had the car a 2 days told me it was done, went to go pick up the car, wasnt done and told me they had to order a "special diagnostic tool" and reversed my vag-com drl's,windows, and alarm horn...

    X2

The used department at Camelback Volkswagen is a piece of s#$%...

Traded in my 2006 GTI for an R32, had them run credit and everything before I got there, let them know how much I could afford for a down payment, etc.

Drove home with the car, left my car there, got a call a month later from the finance department and said they were going to report the car stolen if I didn't return it. No one had any answers. I guess the run this scam all the time and don't sign the fiance paper work.

On top of wasting a ton of everyone's time, they stole all my cds out of my car, stole a key chain, and, broke my driver's side fog light. The used car manager refused to fix the fog light, but couldn't provide the used car inspection paper work for the inspection they did when I traded my car in (because they didn't do one) stating that the light wasn't broken when I "traded it in". The fixed the light, but only because i argued with the manager in front of other customers on the lot for a couple hours.

I would never deal with used car department of Camelback Volkswagen!!!
