    +1.

Already getting another maker's test pipe for myself since USP never made one for us but the more options, the better.

yeah, the USP pricing was pretty nice for the MKIV R32.

We discussed the R32 test pipe again last night, it was not done because the cost to make it would be too high. Perhaps we need to revisit the idea again sometime. Thanks for your input!

How much is too much? The MK4 test pipe was significantly less expensive than any other maker's test pipe AFAIK.

Don't underestimate our capacity to throw money at this chassis. Seems like a lot of mfgrs will throw out a group buy to gauge interest and pre-sell an initial production run. If you seriously discuss it again, the option to include Magnaflow cats welded in would be something to consider, since many would be doing that anyway.

We are still talking about this today due to the requests here, however the cost would be much higher than the MK4... If we got say 5 paid orders at $899.00, maybe. But adding Magnaflows would bump if even higher than that.

The problem is that it goes all the way from the header to the where the exhaust starts, so it is a real big piece (about half of the car).

Just for comparison, the Milltech one is going for about $2200.00...

I'd be more than interested in a test pipe.

In what size would it be made? IIRC, 2.25" is the sweet spot.

Yeah - seems like 2 pcs would be easier in some ways, though more expensive:

The Scorpion catless downpipes run $767 and with cats is $1520, I think if you could target a better price on the cat version, you could do well.

Milltek high flow cats are 2200$ yes. Their test pipe is only $700-800. Heh, only.

iirc, the USP test pipe was like 250 bucks or something?

Again, a (proven) test pipe option from you guys around 300-400 bucks would sell. I think when USP originally gauged interest in this forum (what, 2-3 years ago?), not a whole lot of those owners seemed particularly interested in modding their cars to that extent.

The MKIV version was only the cat portion, it's a 2 piece unit on the MKIV, one piece on the MKV, so there's extra parts and development costs.

Thanks for all the suggestions and interest. We are torn between really wanting to make it for you guys, and not being able to even come close to the mentioned prices. Last I was told, we would need at least 5 paid orders for $899 for catless, and with Magnaflows it would be around $1200.

Thanks for taking this seriously, Roland. If it turns out to be something that enough people here want to go ahead with, should we PM / email you so that you can set up an official group buy?

Welcome Roland. I too would be interested in a test pipe. Not for $800 though, I can get the Milltek test pipe to match my catback for $850. Might end up going that route and getting your test pipe for my mkiv.

    Thank you Jon!

Whichever one is the best solution for you, go for it. We do try to get the most performance for the lowest price out of our parts, sometimes it is the cheapest, sometimes it isn't. But we aren't able to compromise quality (or lose money). I look forward to helping you with the mkiv though!!
