see my Houston Craigslist page for all the info and whats included with the car: http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/3282455976.html

$4500 OBO (less than breaking even)
OR trade for reliable, fuel efficient car with cold AC (of around same value)
reason for selling: school is taking ALL of my time, altho i still drive this car everyday, i need something less of a project car

    make: VW cabriolet 1989 MK1 (VIN: WVWCA0152KK008693)
engine and trans: 1.8L 8v, 5 speed close ratio
mileage shows 138k but the odometer stopped (odometergears.com for a new gear)
white paint, white conv top (no rips/cracks), red/black cloth sport seats
JOM full coilover suspension, recently installed
Konig Roller wheels 7.5x15 (no curb rash, like new)
    Federal tires: 195/45-15 (75% left)

    the bad:
-AC works but needs a fan in front of the condensor in order to use R134a
-need to find an original radiator ran and shroud (will work better than the dual fan setup that is currently installed, was like that when i bought the car)
-rear conv top window leaks water slightly (the fix is to just remove the glass and clean the seal)
-AC center vents blow in defrost (common vacuum servo failed, need to remove dash to fix, no time)(but outer 2 vents blow just fine
-coolant hoses are seeping coolant (all thats needed is to clean the nipples and reclamp them, coolant level has never dropped, engine never ran hot)
-cold startup is rough due to a stuck auxiliary air valve (used for raising idle on cold start, $250 for new one)
**never addressed the cold start issue because i planned on swapping to a weber carb setup**

    repairs recently:
-new Bosch CIS fuel pump and new transfer pump screen
    -new fuel filler rubber tube
    -new techtonics tuning 2.25 exhaust
-new techtonics tuning deluxe shifter rebuild kit w/weighted shift rod
-Autotech 270 Sport cam (big difference)
    -scirocco steering wheel
    -'golf ball' shift knob
-solid back strip side moldings with new clips
    -G60 throttle body
    -repaired clutch cable mount
    -polyurethane front control arm bushings
    -new front ball joints
-performed alignment (-2* front camber, 0* toe, 1.5* rear camber, rear toe non adj)
-polyurethane front and rear engine mounts
-polyurethane left side engine mount insert (was like that already, rubber mount needs to be replaced)
-new autocross front brake pads and ATE slotted rotors
    -calipers painted red
    -performed brake flush
-completely disassembled fuel distributor, warmup regulator, cold start injector and fuel injectors for cleaning
-new fuel injector seals, mounts and buckets
-new transaxle fluid (good but needs better GM synchromesh fluid)
    -xenon headlight kit
    -Avital alarm system
-old school 2 headlight rabbit front grille assembly
-temperature dépendent thermostat for radiator fans with defrost switch wired for override

parts that i have new but have no time to install:
    -new Sachs clutch kit
-new head gasket set (oil seeping from back corner only, HEAD GASKET NOT BLOWN)
    -new head gasket bolts
-new rubber 1pc valve cover gasket
-new 1pc oil pan gasket with windage tray
-new timing belt and tensioner pulley
-new front core support (was hit LF corner before i bought it, ft bumper and LF fender have already been replaced
-new rear main seal and mounting plate
-new Autotech heavy duty double valve springs (recommended with 270 cam, not required)
-new universal door lock actuators (for adding power remote locks, currently has manual locks still)
-new air-to-oil cooler kit complete with sandwich adapter
-new polyurethane rear trailing arm bushings
-new polyurethane upper rear shock mounts
    -new polyurethane steering rack mounts
    -new polyurethane adjustable bumpstops
-new inner CV boot kit (inner left CV boot splitting)
-new left steering rack dust boot kit (split)
-new right side engine mount with polyurethane insert
-new autocross rear drum brake shoes
-new rear brake drum cylinders and hardware kit

    included with car:
    -original front grille
    -original camshaft
    -original steering wheel
    -original shift knob
-original conv top vinyl cover (white, very good condition)
