Thread: vacuum pump needed? or not?

      Hey everyone,
I was talking with some friends of mine and we got on the topic of turbos, after an argument between two of them I'm left wondering. If you want to turbo say a 2.0 mk3 engine, would you need a vacuum pump or not? They were saying no the, engine makes vacuum still. I was thinking how could it if its not. Getting forced in? Or am I wrong. I'm siding with needing a pump, or something for vacuum. Please help settle this,

      Thanks!

The answer is no. Visit the forced induction foroum for more information. There are plenty of people running turbo'd 2.0s in MKIIIs. Information is in the MKIII & 2.0 L engine forum on this also.
