FYI... I decided to take off the A pillar trim completely in order to zip tie the hardwire cord every 2 inches (OCD) and to ease the fishing of the cable into the fuse area. It was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to get back in. Probably took me 30 minutes. At least I'm certain that it won't get in the way in case the airbag blows, though...

Thoughts on the Escort Passport 9500ix Direct Wire Smartcord?

What mount do you guys recommend to put the Radar Detector under the Rearview mirror?

Is there a more discrete location to put it?

    1. I think the smartcord got good reviews from what I remember. I got a cord from http://www.safe-n-sound1.com/Escort.html which gives you the option of adding a mute button. Had them put on 2 female spade connectors instead, and made a stealth mute button using this DIY: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ur-MK6-stealth

    2. Blendmount.

    3. No. See above.

What Blendmount did you guys get? The one I got seems to be loose on the mirror. I ordered the BlendMount BBE-2002...

I got the BBE-2003 for my Bel/Escort RD. It fits perfectly. If you got the wrong parts, BM will replace them for free. Their customer service is awesome from what I've read.
