If only the APR ECU tunability on the Golf R was fully loaded I'd get it. I'd love to have a 100 oct map.

I always wanted a way to disable the car from theft, with something like a.... phone.
A phone that could switch for different fuels, clear stuff, monitor stuff, etc...

Is the website going to be fully updated with sale pricing or are there items not included in the sale? Looking at the Boost Tap and the Fixed Dampening VWR suspension.

      Thanks-

Has anyone seen APR Stage 3 figures (Power gains and cost). I am at about 4K for a stage 2+... wondering how much more a stage 3 would be and what power gains I would get. At Stage 3 we are talking new clutch (might as well get a new flywheel too).

All items that go on sale should be listed as on sale on the website.

The boost tap doesn't go on sale, and we don't get discounts from VWR.

Yeah - I'm in the same boat. I don't care so much about 100 octane but I like the option of switching back to the stock ECU map and doing fault code erase, etc. when I bring the car into the dealer (I had the fully loaded ECU on my A3 and loved it). I realize the dealer can sniff it out anyways if they want to, but it still gives me some peace of mind.

Arin: could you comment on developments of a loaded or switchable ECU for the Golf R? Last I heard there was some work on this front I think? Hoping there's a solution coming down the pike!

If I choose to buy the Apr downpipe for the R, do I need to set up a tome for install? How does that work?

We hired another person so we could knock more off this stuff out at once. He's already cracked a couple ECU that we are now tuning and he's on to these.

Nice, that's good then. I thought you guys stuck him on this project as a form of punishment.

BTW, are you still working on disabling the ESP or has that been shelved?

I'll ask in the thread for the benefit of anyone else that may be wondering the same thing...

APR has the same part number listed for all FSB applications (which are all FWD). I'm wondering if you have a different FSB that is applicable for the Golf R...?

      Thanks!

edit for clarity: http://www.goapr.com/products/swaybar_front_mkv.html is the link I'm looking at, which I'm sent to via the MKVI "menu".

On saturday i just purchased a intercooler from ap tuning in lebanon pa. Now its on sale today. Any way I can get that sale price. I did call them and he said no because they are on back order and would just rather have it back to use on somebody else's build because they cant get them.

The front swaybars don't fit the golf R. We have new bars from VWR coming though.

Do I need to order and pay before the BBQ or when I get there? I am only able to hang out for a few hours.

I don't know, but it's all first come first serve. When you order one, you're in line. There's been a line since 2007. We can't keep them on the shelf. Too popular.

What is the upgrade path if I were to buy one program now and later ugrade to a fully loaded ECU? Isthat the $149?

      Thanks
There currently is no option for a fully loaded ecu on the golf r. It's only a single program.

FWIW, I ordered an APR IC around July 9th as of right now, I don't have an IC and have not heard any kind of estimate on when it will ship, so not only do they not keep them in stock, they don't make them anywhere close to fast enough.

In addition to that, aparently they have no idea of either how many people are waiting or how long it takes to make (otherwise they could provide any ETA). Or maybe they know the ETA just fine but feel that telling customers upfront would frighten them off. They would rather keep you in the dark and waiting months to get what you ordered than tell you upfront.

I don't know which of those is true but one of them has to be.

I spoke to my APR dealer yesterday who is also a Forge dealer. I am tired of waiting... I am cancelling my APR IC order today and getting the Forge Twintercooler. It is about the same price and gets great feedback from those who have it.

Also FWIW, it took a month to get a TBE and almost two months to get the black tips for it, so it is not just the intercoolers.

APR, love thier stuff, hate their service.... sorry... :-)

I'm terribly sorry about the long wait. Our delay has been with our intercooler core manufacture. We cast the end tanks in the USA and machine them in house. The adapters are all machined in house too. The hoses never seem to be a problem either.

The intercooler cores are produced here in the USA, and our core manufacturer supplies high end cores to several high end clients (Think OEM's, Race teams, etc). It appears with a recent order by one of their customers, they bit off a little more than they could chew, and our supply flow took a hit. Our typical flow of intercooler cores could satisfy our order list in a decent amount of time, but that number has been cut in half, maybe even a third and sometimes they were even missing a shipment. You're frustrated, we're even more frustrated and taking every step necessary to fix this issue.

Over the next 3 weeks we were told the intercooler core supply will be enough to fill our current backorder. Now, that said, this is not MY ETA, this is the core manufactures ETA, so if they are wrong, me telling you this information will suddenly appear as "poor customer service" on our end, as if we lied to you. That simply isn't the case. We're currently at the same mercy as all of you.

So, based on the information we have, the intercooler supply shortage, creating very lengthy back orders should clear up over the next 3 weeks.

On a side note, don't think we're not aware this is an issue, and that we haven't or aren't working on a better solution. We're known to carry over 2 million in inventory at any given time so we can get our products quickly to our dealers and customers. If that can extend to intercoolers, it will.

I've been here since 2008 and I've never once seen an APR intercooler sitting on the shelf. Every intercooler we've ever sold, and we've sold more than I care to share, has always sold faster than they could possibly be produced and no sort of money or forecasting could correct this. I guess the only solution there, besides from switching core manufactures, is to increase the price (supply/demand), but that's not something we want to do.

      +1.

Not going to crap up the thread with all of my stories about APR but let's say I've had about five different isolated incidents with their service. They have amazing product quality but they have literally no customer service.
