So I know that to be come a professional racer, most people get their start in karting, and move up from there. When I was young my family didn't know of any places to go, so a racing career kind of got struck down right away. Lately I've been thinking about racing a lot, figured I'd try my hand at karting and see if I have any actual talent.

Recently found f1outdoors, and they offer a two hour introductory course for karting.

Anyone have experience with a racing school here or at another track in MA?

A few of us go to maine indoor karting, it's a lot cheaper faster and more fun. Also there aren't many lines.

The dudes there are very helpful too, so as far as training get a season pass and take a lot of trips up there.

pm me your info and next time we go up there i'll give you the heads up

A few of us rented the track at F1 Outdoors for an hour a few years ago and it was great. We were able to run the long course and an hour was more than enough time.

I would be interested if anyone wanted to do something like that again? When do they close for the season?

Karting is cheaper. Buy a used TAG or Shifter and let someone else take the loss. Lot more track time and getting a kart to the track can be done via

Do I recommend it? NO. But it was a steal of a deal. Guy freaked when I showed up with a roof rack and said really. Works though.

A old shot where I had came home with another one too.

We have a trailer now, and kids race at Wallingford Indoor leagues, I run from NJMP to NHIS. I run a Rotax Sr in just open days. I haven't had the time to race this or last season since my flying schedule gets in the way.

Alright, kind of a drive for me. I have no experience yet/ low on monies, but this spring I will probably be down to go.

I have no means of getting it to a track, and I wouldn't trust a stripped out beater with a minimum 1 hour commute AFTER ripping some laps.

If we had enough people who wanted to participate, I can try to oraganize some track time. Usually 15-20 people is a good number and it used to be around $120 per person. Its well worth it to be able to run the longer course (short tracks combined). I think you always are on the short tracks for Arrive n Drive but not sure?

That would be sweet. I know F1Outdoors also has leagues you can join, I think it's about $300 per season- I'm not sure if you can rent or not however.

I would for sure be in on that for that kind of price.

Alright, I'll at least call and see what rates are and when the track is available. If we don't have enough people we may have to settle for Seekonk Grand Prix or maybe someone has a ride on mower we can borrow.

Saw the following in yesterday's Worcester Telegram-Gazette.

"GO KART Looks like Indianapolis Race Car. Roll bar 9hp Honda Motor. Needs a little work. $350. Call 508-735-6119."
