2006 VW Passat 2.0T 5 speed standard emmissions problem

Hello,

I have been trying to fix an emmissions problem for months...I just purchased the Vag-Com cable and licence, and it's great..

So far I have changes the gas cap twice, checked vacum hoses for leaks (had a smoke test done). check exhaust for leaks, ans still the same code. I have included the Vag-Com auto scan...

Any help that you can provide woulkd be great..

Start by checking the purge valve.

The first two are intermittent, do they return if cleared?

Hi Don,

Making sure the lines aren't crossed would be advised as mentioned but I'll also add that the early 3C Passat had a whopping list of TSB and Tech Tips for Evap system failure items. The N249 valves had issues but if that code hasn't returned I'd leave it alone.

You may want to search for the following in the repair manual:
