MK IV GTI interior light issue/alarm beep

Well, I am stuck on this one...

My interior lights (all) work when they want to. Some days not at all and some days once or twice. When I lock the car the red LED on the door flashed however the horn doesn't beep. The wondows all work and the dash lights. I have checked all of the fuses and they are good (fuse 14 and others). I pulled down the overhead light and checked the solder points and checked for burn maks, no problems. The bulbs are all new and I get power to the end of the harness at all light connection points.

Ideas????

Update...

The lights are now working when they want to. Alarm works, but still doesn't beep when I lock the car.

Any ideas??
