Hello and welcome to the R32 Supercharged owners thread.

This thread is for ANY owner of a Supercharged R32, or a different car with the same R32 motor.

I have not included 12 or 24 valve VR6 engines so we can stay focused and concentrate all our efforts for the most common gain in this 3.2 liter power plant.

Please feel free to post a pic of your car, a pic of you, and your name/state if thats ok. Plus the details about your build, when you got it, who installed it, how much you like it, etc...

And, whats your favorite aspect of owning a Supercharged R32 ;-) ???

    Thanks

    vwgeorge2 (Bill)

The stages below are loosely derived from multiple sources and subject to change over time through user inputs.

The PSI ratings are generally not important, but dealing with (1) motor this can be used for a general reference of performance capability.

The volumetric Efficiency of the R32 head is very high, therefore boost is relative to performance in this setup. The VE on the R32 head is guestimated at 90%, giving very little room for improvement.

    Major Supercharger friendly companies:

    1) HPA/Marcel=Makes a great entry/mid level supercharger kit

    2) Verdict Motorsports/Phil&Noah=Makes long lasting/quality cog gears for most s/c applications

    3) Superchargerebuilds/Tod=Makes s/c belts for most kits and sells rebuild kits for most s/c's

    4) Vortech/tech support=Top quality sales and support for all Vortech head units

    5) Ultrarev/any=Sells discount parts for most s/c installs

    6) 928 Motorsports=Sells s/c rebuild kits and replacement impellers for the V2S headunit

    7) Frozen Boost= Quality and inexpensive boost tubing and silicone to include a/w after coolers.

Ah Bill, I like where this is going!

    Name: Jason

I started with a stg 2 kit with v.9 blower approx 2 years ago and over last winter upgraded to a stg 4 with v.2 blower. I've done the full install both times. So far loving it! I love the linear power coupled with the AWD. Makes for a fun and easy daily driver.

    specs:
    - v.2 vortec charger
    - 550 cc injectors
    - 4" maf
    - UM tune
    - (looking to do cams and UM profile for it this winter)
    - (planning s/c rebuild this winter - contemplating the 928 vane)
    - redoing the ductwork this fall to make it fit better, tuck closer to the frame
    - also have blue controller in the rear and wavetrac diff in the front

Thanks, I hope this thread can get all s/c R32 owners on a first name basis. We can then share mod info and find out what we can do based on others results. Maybe even get a group buy for the stage 1 and 2 guys pulley tensioners from HPA.

Dont forget your first name and a pic if you would

    Thanks

    Bill (vwgeorge2)

I'm gonna be in this group in the upcoming few weeks. I already have all my hardware or most of it. I have a full VF stage 2 kit waiting to be installed. I have a few questions still. I am gonna be using UM software but which injectors do I use? The UM website says 630cc but others have told me 550cc. With the stage 2 kit on UM software, milltek exhaust and lightweight pulleys would 320whp be attainable on 93 octane?

Go with the Injectors that are specified for that software. The UM software leans toward a Turbo Application TBH and frankly 550's would be fin for a STG2, however if the software is tuned for 630s. usse them.

My STG 2 E85 Kit calls for 870cc injectors. I feel thats a tad excessive, but thats what UM calls for their software.

I have a VW T5 Van with same R32 engine.
    Spec's are:

    -Vortech V9F Stage 2 pulley 2.62"
    - Frozen boost 600HP Awic, boost track including Awic exchanger is About 1 foot long.
    - Huge AEM dry airfilter
    -260/264 TT cam
    -Bosch 55Occ injector
    - VR6 specilalist flexfuel tune (based in Europe, France)
    -magnaflow High flow cat's
    -2.5" stainless exhaust
    -Coolingmist WMI

Didn't dyno it yet but hope to be around 350 Whp

I would be in for the following group buy:
    -HPA belt/tensioner
    -2.5" pulley

    Anerness,

With stage 2 you will be fine with 550cc injectors (Gas and E-85), you can put in bigger injectors if you wish but its not needed. I have the Bosch 550's in my car now at 400 FWHP and they are fine...

You can get a good file for your car from: UM, C2, and HPA

    Enjoy

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to go Turbo but I like to be different and do the VF kit with some other mods. I'll be updating this shortly.

Sorry but I think I should be in stage 2+ as I have modified exhaust with high flow cat and TTcam and Awic with only 1 foot long boost track with only one 90° bend.
My boost gauge say that I'm at almost 9psI but I think it's a bit optimistic so i bought a knew one tat I'm going to instal in the next day

    Name: Kieran
Started with VF stage II in 2007 which was changed for a CCR racing Rotrex kit in 2009

    The car:

    VF stage II install

    What I liked:
    The performance
The sound, the V9 sounded good at 5K+rpm
The look of a nice big shiny SC in the bay

    What I disliked:
    The rough sound at idle
    Oil leaks killing 6 MAF’s
2 rebuilds in less than a year

    Rotrex install:

    Spec:
    - Rotrex C30-94 giving 14PSI
    - 550cc injectors
    - UM software
    - UM 4”MAF
    - Aquamist water and methanol injection
    - Wossner pistons
    - Milltek manifolds, sports cats and catback exhaust

The C30-94 is rated at 0.39 kg/s or 747CFM, however I know from the MAF it’s flowing 420g/s or 0.42kg/s which is 805CFM (if it got the math right)

    Likes:
The power, currently getting 474@ flywheel or 362@wheels
    No problems with slipping belts
Reliability, the Rotrex was fitted at 60,000. The car is now on 91,000, the only maintenance needed for the SC is an oil change. Did suffer from a bearing failure in one of the idler pulleys
Stealthy install, just looks like a CAI

    Dislikes:
Not as quiet as I was lead to believe
Lower MPG (downside of big power)
Position of air filter, have to be careful when there is standing water or deep puddles on the road.

To see how far the C30 will go, the Milltek system is coming off, the OEM manifolds have been opened out and will be mated to 2.25” down pipes and a custom 3” exhaust with de-cat.
New down pipes vs stock R32 down pipes

This is all I got for now.

    It's 300cell magnaflow's in a USP testpipe and a EIP competition catback.

Buttdyno wouldn't have known a change because I had that on before the supercharger.

Ellery, you're gonna get me in trouble. lol
