In the past two weeks I've twice had a parking brake fault on the dash when trying to disengage. After a shut down of the engine, the fault goes away and the brake releases.

Does this mean my switch is on its way out?

probably. It's a cheap part and takes a few minutes to replace

Ordered one online for $32 shipped. Stealership wanted $90 plus tax (and me driving 50km round trip).

Did you have to order the parking brake button? where you've found it? I think I need one too but I couldn't find one on-line.

When you get the button search YouTube for a DIY vid. Literally takes 30 seconds to remove and replace

    Ebay is your friend.

I did a search on DIY and yeah, it looks pretty easy. Should be here early next week, I hope.
