I think I legit have close to the best commute
-No traffic
-Fresh Air
-NYC gramercy to lower edge of midtown
-15 blocks
Gets a bit nippy Jan-Feb, but otherwise its brilliant.

I live just outside of the city and commute on nice straight country roads to another town 12kms away for work.
It's all farm land and hills, the only downside is the brutal snowdrifts that often accumulate on the road due to high winds in the winter months.
The cool option I have is I can cover the same distance on an extremely windy road that is on the shore of a river with little to no traffic (downside is you **** it up and you're in the river - no guardrails). Lots of fun if I happen to take the Datsun to work.

I used to have a reverse commute when I sold cars. It was awesome blasting down a near empty highway while northbound traffic was sitting in gridlock for 20 miles.
Funny story. I was cruising along at topspeed in my 4000Quattro (about 110) when I got passed by a Grand Cherokee with dealer plates. Got into our morning meeting with the old man sitting there and he says "Damn son, you were really hauling ass when I passed ya this morning".![]()

It's awesome when I bike to work, it's boring suburbia when I drive it.

I can't complain about driving to work in the Air Force Academy for my commute... Cycling as well

2-3 miles, 5-7 mins at 5:30am w mostly green lights. Live in the capital, on the edge of the inner city, work a little further out.

2.8 miles; 6 minutes on terrible city roads (pot hole here, pot hole there, random construction, broken down jalopy, onto New Deal Act brick streets, fox hole here, fox hole there) with the worlds most ridiculous drivers (heads up their a$$es, driving way too fast or preposterously slow, no blinkers, speed up thru yellow lights, sun in the eyes, college students darting across the most busy street in town, etc.)
I have only totaled one Audi A4...knock on wood! (Stopped at a red light for 20 seconds, look in the rear view and see Law School Student coming about 45 mph in a 4x4 Toyota Tacoma, never hits breaks...goodbye 9 month old Audi) Thumbs up their a$$es!!!!![]()

My commute is either eight minutes or twenty-eight minutes, depending on which location I have that day.

Assuming I am working at the main office, a short drive to the train station (about 10 minutes), then about an hour of train ride into the city.

I didn't mind this commute most days. Pass by Sherwood Country Club, see all the millions of dollars in homes I'll never afford, see some film crews virtually every day. I think We Bought a Zoo was filmed right there. Always saw cool cars, too.
Then, as I got closer to my apartment I'd hit some alright twisties and usually see BMW test cars on their way home from the Oxnard facility. I'd see a 7 series hydrogen a lot and other test vehicles in camo quite often. My apartment was out in the boonies and just a few miles from the ocean. I loved it!
Now I commute about 9 miles on the side road of the tollway. Boring.

25 miles on I-80 in the opposite direction of the NYC rush hour traffic. I could leave my cruise control on 70 and fall asleep.

2 hr commute for me.
15 min drive to the train. Just over an hour on NJeffinTransit. Then 20 or so on the subway.

I work from home, so 13 steps to the office. Then it's the GS350 in non-traffic situations to appointments, and home before rush hour.

On a good day I leave work at 4:02PM, get to car at 4:06 and am home by 4:10. On a bad day I get to my car at 4:08 and don't get home until like 4:25. I only live like 4KM from work and about 500 cars try to get onto the same road all at once.
Getting to work isn't too bad, I leave around 5:40AM and am in the building by around 5:52AM.

I commute 3.5 miles.
But when my local office building is closed, I have to commute 70 miles to work.![]()

Me, 9 miles of twisty country roads, no lights, no stop signs. And I'm a police officer in the department that covers both jurisdictions I have to drive through

I never think to take pics when I am out there. But I have some from a winter time commute. It is wide open for miles and miles in some areas...wide open throttle fun![]()

My commute is about 1/4 mile and takes about 5 minutes. And yes I usually drive even though it is a better idea to just ride a bicycle (which I used to do often until laziness kicked in).
