    SOLD

    Hey guys,

Been awhile since I've been on here. Its been a fun and interesting trip with this car. But as I've become older and have a 1.5 yr old, my tastes have changed a bit and have found myself working on a new project ('69 Dodge Charger R/T). Really enjoyed meeting different VW fans at all the events, but the time has come for me to part ways.

I purchased this vehicle in the Charlotte, NC area back in 2003. Garage kept since 2004. This vehicle has not seen rain or wet road conditions since early 2005, other than the occasional hand wash. It has an extensive list of modifications and upgrades, including lots of regular maintenance items. I have always taken special care of this vehicle. Always garage kept. Always washed and cleaned, including all door jams, engine bay, etc.

Engine refreshed around 2006 or 2007 via Gerich Kadala of Apex Tuning in Raleigh, NC area (around 125k at the time). Car currently has around 156k. I have a thread on the Vortex forums that shows the entire process and what was replaced, including detailed pictures (http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?2661280). Over $14,000 invested in this car during my time of ownership. I had several other write-ups including this one on the PWR Billet Aluminum Radiator installation...lots of pics....(http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...light=godspeed)

Sale also includes multiple extra parts including: black leather back seats/leather rear door cards, stock intake manifold, stock MAF sensor, Brand new Samco hose set, A/C compressor, etc and other misc parts.

** I have all service records/receipts for this car filed in chronological order, including all receipts and service documentation from the previous two owners filed neatly in a specific folder.

Below is a list of all upgrades/modifications I've done over the years.

    Modifications/Upgrades:

    VR6 Engine

    New timing chains, guides, tensioners
New rear main oil seal, oil filter housing gasket, oil temp sensors, oil cooler gaskets, oil pan gasket

    NGK V-Power spark plugs
    Neuspeed 8mm Plug Wires
    PWR billet aluminum radiator
    Samco Hoses
Rebuilt alternator (coastal rebuilders, Wilmington, NC)
    Eurowires Ground Wire Kit
    Stainless fuel lines

    Autotech lifters w/ seats
    Autotech 262 Cams/Sport HD Valve Springs/Titanium Retainers
    Garrett 268 Cam Chip
Mildly ported intake side/cleaned up exhaust side of head
    MKIV metal headgasket

    Intake/Exhaust

    K&N Cone Intake Filter
    Passat Smooth Intake Elbow
2.8L throttle body (de-ramped and polished)
Ported/gasket-matched Euro 2.9L upper (hard to find version w/ oil collar – imported from Germany) and lower Intake Manifolds w/ new gaskets
    Ported/gasket-matched/Jet-Hot thermal coated exhaust manifolds
    o Ported/gasket-matched/lips welded/Jet-Hot thermal coated stock downpipe
o 42 Draft Designs test pipe w/ O2 sensor bung
    o Techtonics 2.5” Cat-back exhaust w/ single Borla muffler

    Transmission

    Autotech 11lb lightweight flywheel
    Sachs VR6 clutch kit
    VF Engineering Front Motor Mount
G60 Solid Rubber Transmission Mount/Stock Rear Engine Mount (best setup w/ no vibrations)

    Suspension

Hitec modified sport cup kit (didn’t want coilovers as they were too harsh…modified rear perch to fit wider wheels)
    Neuspeed upper front stress bar
New R32/TT Control Arm Bushing 4pc set
    New swaybar endlinks/bushings
    New ball joint set
    New tie rod assemblies (ZF)

    ·Miscellaneous

    New ignition switch
Rear speed-activated spoiler motor/assembly rebuilt – works flawlessly
Euro spec Headlights w/ city lights (when park lights are turned on, the headlights are dim with no yellow)
Eurowires headlight / fog light relay kit
Tail light overlays - red - (910 Industries)
Internal door handle latches replaced with metal versions to prevent cracking in cold weather
Converted all internal lighting to red w/ reverse LCD display (black w/ red odometer rather than white with green numbers - similar to Audi displays)
Red 2001 Cabrio cigarette lighter trim
    B4 Passat Cupholder
    Sony CD/MP3 Player
New Rockford Fosgate speakers all around (dash/doors/rear trunk)
    8” Bazooka sub-woofer
    Stubby Antennae
    17” x 8 Flik Justice Anthrocite rims
    New Hancook 205 x 40 x R17 tires (less than 100 miles)
    Hawk Brake pads

    · Future Needs/Known Issues

Passenger window regulator might need replacing (current one is making noise – common problem in vw’s)
A/C condenser needs to be replaced. I disconnected it when the engine refresh was done and I never hooked it back up as it seemed to have a slow leak. I never used A/C anyway. Compressor/Evaporator/Internal controls are still fine.
Sunroof quit working due to cracked o-ring in driver's side track (easy fix but I don’t have the time for it – temporarily disconnected switch). Sunroof motor and switch are perfect. Still has original sunroof so for anyone looking to upgrade to a moon roof, they would have to take this out regardless.
Small rust spot under back driver’s side corner of rear glass about the size of a dime. It’s been there since I purchased the vehicle and has not grown in size but may need future attention if it bothers you to look at.
Small slight dent in driver-side door (size of your fist) - friends ex-girlfriend accidentally backed into it...go figure.

Anyone interested...just shoot me an email: nickaughtry@gmail.com - I won't be able to check the forum that often. I'll try to take some pics of the interior and underneath with it up on a lift this coming weekend as I am traveling for work right now.

    Asking $7500 or best offer.

    best regards
    Nick

    Thanks,

Its been raining for a week straight here. Should dry up this afternoon or evening so I plan on pulling it out of the garage and posting up some more pics of interior/underneath and video of the exhaust.

Got some new pictures of the interior and a few of the problem spot at the bottom of the rear glass......the car has 159k on it. Car had around 120k when the engine was refreshed.

The following engine bay pic shows a blue Samco upper & lower main hose. Reason for this is that originally I had a black set that was an older version without the extra inner layer of rubber. The original upper burst and after 6 months of pestering Samco, one of the distribution managers sent me an entire set for free...only problem is they showed up blue. So the rest of the blue unused Samco set will be included with the car among a ton of other items....

Here is the dent in the driver's side door from the friend's ex-girlfriend backing into it. It was hard to get a picture of it because you can really see it looking straight on. You have to look down the side of the car. Its about the size of your fist clenched.

Current mileage...the interior lighting looks pink in all of my photos. But this is not the case. All of the lighting is red. I spent hours trying to get the filters and backlighting perfect to where it was red and not pink. I wish my camera could pick up the true color. Same in the video...it shows up pink and a lot brighter than it actually is.

Sorry I thought I had posted actual pictures of the car. The first tac pic was older..I only posted it b/c it was a better representation of the interior lighting at night. Hard to get pictures of the red interior as it ends up looking pink in the pictures.

Here is an older video from Oct 2009. Car still drives/sounds exactly the same. And since 2009, I've only put about 5k miles on it as it just sits in my garage collecting dust.

Not to mess with your FS ad, but how do you like the bazooka tube? I've never had a chance to see one or listen to one- not even remotely an audiophile, just looking for a little low frequency.

I have two 6 or 8" 'Tubbies' that sit behind the seat in my Caddy, decent sound for small speakers, need a small amp for them though!

Glws, can't wait to get my Raddo on the road.

I can't really tell from the picture, the spot on the hatch, is it peeling paint or rust?
