when those turbos hit, its gotta be like getting rear ended by a freight train. unreal the raw acceleration of one of those.

does anyone know how the transmissions are beefed up to take that abuse?

similar to what happens to top fuel dragsters but at a much smaller rate

Endurance at WOT. A lot of cars need 10 minutes or so between runs to cool down.

Well it would appear one of you has some tact. Kinda obvious which one too.

Oh and did the driver get off the gas b4 he crossed the line or did he miss a gear?

maybe it's because we can't have a Honda/Acura thread with you going hondadubber on us...seriously, look at your signature. Your bias is pretty clear (this is coming from another Honda guy too). Ever heard the phrase "consider the source"?

ANYTHING can go 8sec in the quarter with enough work, but the difference between Chris' civic and this Lambo is that this one is still a car you can use as a car. The civic, not so much.

TLDR, nobody cares what a purpose built drag car runs.

I feel like this is the: First Lambo to reach 200mph.....and you gotta think....shouldn't a Lambo do 200mph?

UGR trapped 179 like a year ago. I don't even know why Heffner is trying.

I'd like to see a strictly drag built Lambo or GTR. "Oh, but those cars aren't meant for that." Neither are Hondas. "Who buys a Lambo just to gut it and drag it?" I dunno, someone who's into drag racing and would want to do it for ****s and giggles?

Honestly, I wanna see if someone can take a street car, turn it into a drag only car, and hit 5s.

Because these cars are built for 1-mile speed events. These people want to trap 230+ MPH, not run 8's. UGR doesn't care about 1/4 mile times, they could easily make 8 second passes with their cars. They've already proven that by trapping 177 on a street tire. This Heffner car is irrelevant.

It isn't quite that simple. Just because a car runs high speeds in the quarter mile doesn't mean it can automatically rip off low ETs to match them.

As an example Eddie Bellow's 911 traps at 166mph but he is having trouble breaking into the 8s because of traction issues out of the hole and issues with the car popping wheelies in 1st and 2nd gear.

Considering that the Gallardo is AWD, and the 177 trap was done on STREET TIRES (That was a 9.0 pass, by the way) - I don't think traction is an issue. UGR is a set of drag radials away from an 8 second slip if they want one.
