I love my Audi. Love everything about it. I love the 2.8 V6 making 170 and 170 on a good day, I love the CEL that comes on every time I hit a bump, I love how the CEL clears itself after I go over another bump, I love how the heater core went bad and required ripping out the dash just to fix it, love the loose gauge cluster dimmer knob that will either have my cluster at full brightness or off depending on what nanometer I have it set at, and most of all I love the 4 speed automatic transmission that fails to downshift properly every now and then.

Why do you think the Mk2 Golf/GTI consistently are far ahead of other generations in these polls? I think a lot of you who express these feelings are too young to appreciate them. Too many in your generation think they're too primitive to even consider as cars.

Also, you have an Audi, not a VW. After working at a VW dealer at the parts counter for many years, I've finally come up with a valid analogy. (We're VW only):

"You've seen those KFC/A&W combination restaurants?"
      "Yes"
"So, if you saw an A&W stand alone, would you go in and try to order a 6pc KFC meal?"

Your Audi has its own interior, body, wiring harness, lights, etc.

You seem to be angry and immature to make a habit of coming into every VW thread in here just to bash VW. It's getting old, and I think you should seek help. The people here don't hate you for owning a Honda. We want you to get better so you can play well with others.

And most of the decent looking older generations pictures posted so far, have been with heavy modifications to help them look good. Now you're commenting on a STOCK VW picture, with "euro" springs, which are actually the ORIGINAL springs meant and designed for the car. What's your point?

Dude, are you that thick? If you are to use this thread as a measuring stick, the most popular choice is the MK2, by a long shot.

We get it, you LOVE the MK3. I like it as well, but not as much as the MK2, along with 127 other individuals that voted that way.

My favorite GTI in my favorite color...

I chose a1 but really it's a toss up between it and the a2. The Rabbit is just so direct and primitive feeling, making it so fun to drive. The Golf is comfortable and more refined but still fun as hell to drive. Interior is excellent, too, that Recaro interior is just classic. If you asked me which I'd rather own it'd be the Rabbit, if you asked which I'd rather drive everyday as my only car it'd be the Golf. Or better yet, give me the interior and drivetrain out of a Golf put in a Rabbit and we'll call it a day.

A3 is some sauce, never liked that chassis at all. The "mk2 with gland disease" comment is pretty on point, there. Interior's are 100% garbage, too. A4 looks good, especially 20th ae, nice interiors, good engines....sloppy fat chassis. A5 drives excellent, very tight despite it's weight, worst looking one ever made. A6 got the looks back and dialed in the a5, solid car. It can certainly be argued that the a1 and 2 are flinstone car grade compared to the a6 and that it's clearly the best one built from an objective, outside point of view but hell I love old cars and don't want or need 90% of the crap that's in the new ones so I'm biased. Those two old ones just had a personality to them I don't think modern cars can produce the same way.

My point is that I could care less what they have over across the ocean but the wheel gap on the US models suck ass.
