Hey guys I've got a 1994 gti 2.0 (obviously) and in the morning when I'm leaving for school the car will not start unless I floor the gas. when its warmed up and i park for a little to start it I still have to give it quite a bit of gas but it is the worst in the morning and I'm getting tired of having to be on the gas hard just to start my car I could really use some advice on what to look into or what should be replaced ! Please and thanks cheers,

I said check it, not just blindly replace it

With no gas, does it fire and die, kind of just not "staying started"? Or not fire at all?

I got the ect for $6 because I have a discount at a auto parts store so I figured why not! And yeah it turns over fine and then it revs up to what its suppose to but then if you don't give it gas it just dies I was thinking it might be my idle control but I'm not sure

Yep that sounds like a bad IAC.

Ok so it took me a long while to actually find someone locally that carried the IACV but when i did find a store they quoted me the part was $300 anyways instead of spending that kinda money i decided to clean the valve and see if that worked i am still having the same problem though so i took a video in hoping it would give you guys a second look at to what else it could be or if its for sure the idle valve, thanks in advance !

    Any codes?

Check the crankshaft sensor. You've got no tach movement while cranking.

what kind of gas are you using? if not regular then try it. it has a lower flash point and will ignite more quicly in cold conditions then premium

Just cleaning the iac doesn't always fix it, grab one out of the junkyard or ebay to try it. Also before swapping feel/listen if it "clicks" when you turn on the ignition. I can hear mine click from the drivers seat. But others aren't so loud so might need a helper.

I have a similar issue. But mines will actually run for like 10 seconds then die. I believe my issue is MAF related though.

I wonder if your hall sender is going bad? I've read that if it is your car will NOT start or have difficulties starting.

I do use regular fuel! And I checked the cam shaft position sensor it is still good, cleaned my grounds as well still having the same problem! But I am pretty sure now it is the IAC especially because after the car starts it does idle like an absolute pig the car actually shakes I can post of Video up if you guys would like to see! I'm going to try the click thing though thanks for all your suggestions guys much appreciated !
