I'm pretty sure I might of busted my L-Shaped locking lever when trying to install my Dieselgeek SS this week.

I heard there was a method of pushing the front/back shift bracket down on 7 or 9 quarters is a method of finding neutral, then you as you push down, you tighten the shortshifter onto the shifting cables.

Anyone have any tips for this whole deal? Am I screwed?

I'm going to call Jim as Dieselgeek tomorrow about this issue as well...

      Thanks in advance!

"If you have a damaged black plastic L-shaped locking lever:

If you have a damaged plastic L-shaped locking lever (the transmission will not lock into the home position) then you can place a stack of 4 U.S. Pennies and 4 U.S. Dimes wrapped in Scotch tape (or your local coinage equivalent to .425 of an inch or just under 11mm) under the bronze shift lever like this. After the stack of coins is in place and the bent nail is installed (Step 3), have a friend push down on the bronze lever until it rests on the stack of coins. Then tighten the five Allen screws for the silver side to side cable end. After removing the bent nail tool your adjustment should be complete."

Thanks to Jim at Dieselgeek, he created a video on how to adjust your shifter if your L locking lever is broken! No need for stack of quarters trick!

      6-Speed

      Thanks Jim!
