MDI w/ Ipod forgets where it left off

Hi Everyone,

I tried a quick search for this to no avail. Basically, my new 2013 GTI has the iPod MDI cable and it works just as well as my BMW except for one major thing: every time I get out of the car and then turn it back on, it forgets where it left off and starts playing the first song on the ipod, alphabetically.

I wouldn't mind this too much, except that it's much more of a process to select the correct playlist and song than it was in the BMW. Is there a way to force it to remember where you left off and pick back up there, or is there a higher model of cable that I need (this happens w/ aftermarket BMW cables)?

I have the same car (2013 GTI) with a connector provided by the dealer. I too would love to hear if there's a solution. Every time I start the car up it starts with the same 'A' song! Very annoying.
