    PS3 to the TV or to my sony str k502p?

    I have the digital optical cable going from my PS3 to my sony str k502p and I'm getting no sound out of the stereo. I also have the 3 standard RCA cables running to it also but I am getting no sound through DVD output but I have the TV hooked to the stereo with RCA cables and I get sound through TV/Video.

    The stereo hasn't had the blue pro-logic light on since I had my old Sony DVD/VCR combo hooked to it. I had my plasma hooked to it but it the light never came on.

    Could it be the cable? Will I get better sound going through the TV or PS3

    Have you turned on the optical output on the PS3 in the menu?
