Interesting how the tires have the Mclaren logo in the treads...

Show car tires are often hand cut with special graphics.

Replies will be a little thin from me on this thread as I have limited connectivity in Paris, but will try to answer anything once I do get home.

There are some great videos out there on the web from the press reveal. There's also a super cool phone/tablet app that ties in with McLaren Automotive's Facebook page too. Find that here after you have downloaded the app. You'll be amazed with what it does I think.

proportions seem odd to me. And leave the wing down at all speeds please.

    This made me smile:

Interesting that they took a page out of Ferrari's book using a wall mounted F1 car in their display...strange that it's not wearing the current livery though.

I liked the P1 quite a bit from the get go, even more when the 8 additional shots leaked on Tuesday, but none of that really came close to the drama of seeing this in person. I am pretty sure when people get to see it - especially on the roads next year they will be fully and completely staggered by its beauty and purposefulness.

The owner of the local mclaren dealership near me has one on order. I can't wait to go and check that P1 out in person. I also heard from them that the car sounds incredible. Do you know of any sound clip videos ?

Just plain Awesome. I think its a fantastic design, has all the styling cues that pay homage to the original F1 while being completely modern and just smashing the styling envelope of hypercars. What a device.

Can't wait for interior and drivetrain details And as always nice coverage Peloton, this time there will be 500 models to keep track of

Gotta give credit to Mclaren for taking some more risks on this as opposed to the 12C.
    That diffuser looks pretty serious.

If the MCP-12 (whatever the current one is) looks like:

    Then the P1 looks like:

You captured the feeling of being there, thanks! I love seeing the shots with people milling around, it gives a sense of perspective on how small the P1 is in the flesh.

Its a "barge board" like thing in the Jalopnik article(http://jalopnik.com/5946930/the-mcla...ed-by-the-wind), Since it uses some kind of front underbody wing thing, the air extraction out the front probably is quite critical....

I brought a good friend of 20 years along with me who hopes to find his name on the list next year. If he does I will have one to play with on occasion.

Here's a video from my friend Marchettino taken during the press conference with additional views of the car:
