You finanlly solved the mystery that has prevented man from making effective electric cars. You are genius.
Let's make some plus-size AA's, folks!

You are a genius! You should get together with VigorousZX to produce a supercar. If you actually built that remote control car, or even put batteries in one, then you're project leader.

I used to race R/C cars. They ran for 4 minutes on a battery pack that made up half of the vehicle's weight, and that was with hitting top speeds of less than 30mph. Aero drag increases at the square of velocity. Even really slow R/C cars driven at a more leisurely pace would get no more than 20 minutes or so from a full charge back when I was in to them. I know the latest LiFePo cells have better energy density than the 20-30C NiMH cells we ran a decade ago but it's still not magic. A car with a 20 minute range at 20mph would cover 6.7 miles on a charge.

Lets throw little people in the RC cars so that we can throw tons of airbags and steel frames and sound deadening and heavy luxuries in and increase the weight of these RC cars massively. Then, we'll see if these RC cars can run for 10% of the time modern electric cars can run on their proportionally sized batteries. It's such a perfect, world changing idea!!!!

"Artificial Intelligence usually beats natural stupidity." <---- If we apply that logic to driverless cars, the future of commuting should be just fine.

The only problem with this genius idea is that I've never seen an RC car with seats.![]()

All my kids R/C cars last for about 30 minutes before they are moving slow, and the batteries take up most of the room in the car.

I might be feeding the troll here, but:
The full-scale auto industry is pretty much doing the best that they can with the battery technology that is available--if you compare to them to the radio controlled car industry.
I'll save you the boring bits, using a 1/10 scale hobby-grade on-road vehicle as an example, if you actually set it up so it was a true scale model of say a Nissan Leaf, it would need to be able to achieve a sustained speed of 24 mph for 27 minutes, easily done with current brushless motors and LiPo batteries (equivalent to roughly 80mph and 90 min. in real life)--before you guys go, just divide by 10 to get the scale factor, think again and read this article first: http://www.astroflight.com/pdfs/ScaleSpeed.pdf
Charging it seems is also about the same, about 60 min. to charge a 5000mAh LiPo pack at 1C, vs. the proposed 180min. "fast charge" for the new 480y277v power stations in real life.
