A few days ago, I was coming up to a stop sign and pulled in the clutch to coast to a stop. The rev's dropped to about 3k and stayed there before dropping down to idle. I wasn't sure if I had accidently left my hand on the throttle, so yesterday I found the biggest hill I could. I hit the hill at about 50 mph, pulled in the clutch, and deliberately rolled off the throttle so I could coast to the bottom. Sure enough, my engine idled at about 3k RPM for a few seconds before dropping down to idle. I tried it a few times just to make sure I wasn't nuts, and it did it every single time.

    WTF is going on?

    Fuel injected rev hang?

    Doesn't sound normal to me.

Check to make sure your throttle cables aren't binding in any way and are properly adjusted. Then check the throttle position sensor as a start.
If you love your motorcycle, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've high sided

It turns out that the issue was my idle, somehow it had crept up to 1700 RPM. Once I adjusted it down to 1300, the rev hang went away. Weird right?
