    They had 4speed autos that early?
    I can't believe my 1992 Golf GL had a 3 speed.

    That's not really early, the Passat in Europe came out in 1988 with a 4 speed auto, and the Corrado debuted a year later. The Golf was already tried and tested and so cheap it didn't make economical sense to retrofit it.

    Look at those numebrs on the HF nice! FOunda clerical error though! "39mph in the EPA highway test."

    Interesting that they only allowed black on the CRX Si, and no other models.

    Accord got a 4-speed in 1983.

    It didn't get a 5-speed until 2003.
