anybody do it? if so what components and work did you do and did you get it dynod? looking into to doing a 9A block/20v head combo. maybe stroker, high compression, bored to 2.1L. Im having trouble finding a good aggresive cam for an n/a 20v setup. this would be going into a mk1 rabbit. I want to run 92 octane and megasquirt.

There are quite a few of these running around, in fact... here is a current 20v N/A build and topic. IIRC, both Kent and Cat offer camshafts; Cat had quite a few to choose from too. If interested, I've got a high compression, stroker, 16v FSI-EFI build (parts) for sale, it's kind of the same deal, but different...

lol i appreciate the offer but this wouldnt be something I could feasably invest into for at least another year. ill check in with you then to see what you got that would be cool. im not too set on this build, I just want something different than the hundreds of 16v's running around.

My recommendation is use a Aeb block with internal trigger wheel. You can then use off the shelf wossner pistons. You could use aba but need custom pistons. Could also use mk4 block but need custom motor mounts. My setup with the exception of intake manifold are off the shelf parts.

    Hi,

    I'm new to this forum...

I have built a N/A 1.8-20V, based on the AEB/ARD engine, ITB, Wössner pistons, supertech valve train, Cat cams and running it on E85. It was recently dynod to 218,8 hp. Unfortunately the trigger wheel failed and I'm now building a new engine with the same setup, but external trigger wheel this time.

The engine is used in my race car, a MK Indy (Super 7 replica) connected to a Quaife dogbox.

This is something im very interested in building.

So good having so much info free on the internet.

We have n/a 20v here in Australia in a lot of auto A3 Audi's which are always being wrecked.

Do most you guys guys use the 1.8 or 2ltr bottom end. As I undertand the 1.8lte bottom end is from a Mk4 so I would need different motor mounts. But if I used a 2ltr bottom end from a Mk3 I should be ok. Only problem is 2ltr crossflow motors were never solf here in Australia. We only got the x-flow in the Mk4's.

Im still a little unsure as you guys have acess to parts very easily and aftermarket ECU is so good.

What car is it going into? I used a mk4 2.0 block. You can also use 1.8t block or the NA block. You will be able to use the mounts from mk2 mk3 if that is what it is going into. It seems you have plenty of management options as it seems almost every standalone company is from Australia.
