I like the last one... I think the images would look better with more subject isolation/bokeh

I recently had my first photo shoot with a non-family member. Really just looking for some constructive feedback and tips for the next one. Thanks in advance!

I agree with needing more bokeh. I also think the crops/framing on some of them are not ideal. I think for this style of portrait, you need to be very sharp, and the pics seem a little grainy to me.
On a good note, the woman seems to be comfortable with you.

Thanks. She is a co-worker and we work well together. Like I said this was my first shoot like this, and I do have a lot to learn. I will definitely work on isolating the subject next time.

Ok first of all, the posing its not good a all, she seems shy, not scared of you but shy.
Second the lighting... Its a very nice lighting but you need to use a reflector to smooth that light, its very harsh on her face (under her eyes) and her skin.
I dont agree with choosing a bokeh effect, you can or you can not, both if done well will look anazing in this pictures.
But again the pictures are not well shoot, dont get discouraged by my words, its pure photography criticism and trust me you can improve your pics.
All you have to do its go to photography sites and check the portraits in ambient light that they have, start trying to copy them and once you nail them start trying to shoot your own style![]()

agreed on the bokeh/DOF, the posing and that lighting (on her) could be better.
It's always an opportunity to learn and improve, we are all doing it almost all the time.

Thanks, I'm not discourage at all. Like I said it was my first time doing something like this, and I'm always learning. I've learned a lot from this shoot, and I plan on implementing what I learned in the next one. Again thanks for all the critique and input!![]()
