Apparently 3349 were built, 1788 sold in the US, according to Excellence magazine. But, I think that's the first one I've ever seen on the street and I hardly ever see these for sale.

saw this Honda S600 on the freeway a few months back. sorry for the failed attempt at taking a cell phone pic.

      Seriously dude?

I saw a 190sl a few days ago. Not really a unicorn, but a nice car nonetheless.

Also saw a really nice one of these at auto-x last week, man was that cool:

I read the link Dave provided in the revised wikipedia page to his blog. I had no idea the engine in that Fisker was that mental! 660+ horsepower from the V10! Very cool indeed.

You must be even younger than me to not know the 959, or you just weren't into cars in the 80s. The 959 was the daddy, the car that redefined hi-po Porsches, particularly the AWD models and the turbo models that followed.

I've never seen a 959 road car, but I did see the Dakar car at Lime Rock recently.

Here's a unicorn. Not a great photo, but I posted i as a 'name this car' and it was identified in less than two minutes.
No, no the Porsche, wise guy, the white car behind it.

Did you take this pic? Because if not, it's more likely that what you saw at the DMV was a 959 replica.

Possible if it were an '86 but yes, I tend to agree. The only ones that I know of in the US ar '88's and '89's but I am certainly no expert.

Center lug wheels in the correct size, style and fitment, and a Euro plate though... He might have some temporary visa paperwork for the vehicle, and was sorting that out at the DMV. Could very well be real.

*note the Sable in the back with the US plate, I'd err on the side of that being his pic.
