BMW, but i'm not sure on the exact model

I am not sure if this one is hard or easy for current TCL members...
This vintage model is not a common site today, but the brand is.

My knee-jerk response is BMWC635csi - but I may need to verify that now.

E34 535/ 5 series seems to fit better.
Edit- e28.. The 80's model

I didn't notice the top of the badge- I noticed the lip at he bottom of the windshield, the nozzles, the vents, and the elevated section of the hood.
First thought: 1980's BMW, wide enough body to fit that hood.
Second: vents- surely the 635 will have this sporty treatment, vs the 5 and 7..
Then: nose seems too short for a 6 or 7 series. Must be a 5.

Yes.- E28.
Same gen as Rusty Slammington.
This one seems rust free.... so it must be from a different production plant.
But it is all stock and complete and straight even inside except for a slightly crooked front bumper.
I haven't seen a 100% stock one in forever.
The single centered exhaust looks very odd now (assuming this is stock).

Thats either an "I don't care cus every post should be a techy question" reply or a troll comment or a typical miyagi stab ...my vote is for the later two.
Idk what car it is, but the feel of the pic makes me miss the e30 chipped 325is I learned to drive on. Ah, good times before bimmers ballooned into lane hogging luxury gas guzzlers

It took the car lounge way too long to ID this. Is the e28 even still a darling?

Thanks - what's a slicktop?
Do you mean the jacket in the driver's seat? That's my 3-year old daughter
And agree with the above. E28's were for 'executive' transport - E30's had a much stronger sporting vibe. Look at the popularity today of the 80's line up (in all countries) and it generally follows the sporting flow:
E30 > E24 > E28 > E23
Doesn't make the 5's, 6's or 7's any less of a car - just gives them less of a modern fanbase

Ah - gotcha.
Car has a sunroof - complete with 80's manual winding action.
FWIW it's a 528iM (not an M 528i) as it was available prior to the M535i and was 'upgraded' by BMW Australia from a standard 528i. So not an official 'M' car - more akin to an M-Sport optioned car today. E28 M5 was never locally released in Australia. Has factory LSD, Bilsteins and Recaro seats as well as the matching Pfeba M-Sport airdam and rear lip. Car has since had Alpina B9 3.5 conversion done to the original M30 (same bottom end - new 3.5 head and cam plus Alpina headers and exhaust) - runs about 200bhp.

Nice.
FWIW- many still rate the E28 as one of the best all time sports sedans.
I remember even in the 90s and 2000s journalists pulling the E28 card.
Odd how the best drivers cars usually end up being examples when a brand is still clawing its way into acceptance versus when it already has it.

Many here have electric ones - usually in 'executive' trim. The 528iM was pretty much the sporty 'stripper' model. No power windows, no power seats, no OBC, no leather and no power roof. You could option all these things - but if creature comforts were your thing the sales guy would likely have pushed you into an 'Exec' and the you could dealer-fit the spoilers if you wanted.
In 1983 - this was a $37k car (Australian CPI inflation = $110k today)

Thanks for the pic. I've never seen a manually cranked sunroof on an e28 before.
Yes, and the electric sunroof'd e28s arer no exception. There is a little plastic cover you pop off, and there is a fitting for a crank handle. The handle, as i recall, is stored in the toolkit. The same is true for the power windows.

Electric sunroof overhead panel (crappy iPhone photo, sorry)...
