Hi, I have a 2000 VW New beetle with the AEG 2.0l engine.

I want to know if a 1.8t turbo system (turbo, intercooler, piping, etc) will fit my 2.0l.

How much would it cost approx. to get the turbo system off a 1.8t at a salvage yard?
Also, is it worth what it would cost over getting a complete 1.8t engine and doing a swap?

    Thanks in advance.

sell the car, buy a 1.8t, or do the whole 1.8t swap.

A lot of custom work for a 2.0t

You can source a whole turbo kit relatively cheap on here.
    You need:
-software and matching injectors(Usually go for $300-400 for a set)
    -Turbo($200-$700 depending what you want)
    -manifold ($100-$150)
    -Downpipe
-Intercooler and piping(U can go ebay route)
    -oil lines
    -tapped oil pan($50-$100)

This will get you up and running. depending on system, you are looking around 200hp. More then enough.
If you wanna get tricky you can always get:
    -Short runner intake
    -Bigger MAF housing
-thicker head gasket to lower compression
    -Cam and cam gear
    -bigger exhaust

If you monitor the adds, the parts pop up relatively cheap now and again. Digging stock parts from 1.8T is a waste of time and money.

I bought a complete 2.0T car for $650 not long ago. A side from a turbo kit,i got lighten flywheel and clutch, parted the car and made $800 profit.
