Hahaha yea that kid didn't even get any hits on me. I originally told them I'd follow them and fight all four of them thats why we were both in u turn lane then that's when he tried hittin me then I grabbed his arms while he was flailing them or whatever he was tryin to do. He dipped by time I got out and that's why I got pulled over for speeding cause I tried catching up to them. I think this is what your talking about. Why run if there's four of them and one of me. That's a bitch haha

So, what do you guys think the chances are of them ever shutting it down and not allowing us to go to OC for H2O. Word is that the locals hate it, and I'm sure the cops don't like it too much either. Seems like its getting too out of hand.

All the **** is kind of taking all the fun out of the innocent car related aspects of H2O.

Half the accidents that weekend were from regular traffic, locals bitch and complain every year. This year was cray, but with that amount of people in one place, it's inevitable that some of group will be trouble makers.
Personally I think we are there to stay: the amount of business we give to the local shops/restaurants, and the amount of money paid to the city with all our tickets.![]()

Correct. The revenue we bring to the town is probably the only reason this show is even still allowed. Thousands of people having to rent condos/houses/hotel rooms, emptying alcohol stores, giving out their money at bars, tipping decent (compared to the old people there at least), having to buy food at the restaurants, and probably over $30k in tickets with no supra running into a condo this year.
I met this check at the 7-11 gas station. She was talking about how she was pulled over 5 times on Friday. Mostly for people in her vehicle trying to take pictures over the windshield and not wearing seatbelts. I saw her pulled over again Saturday morning with no passengers, so I pulled over into the right lane and asked her why she got pulled over this time. Got a reply of "i dont even ****ing know" and a ticket from the officer for impeding traffic in the right lane.....at a red light.
The officer was just looking for a reason to pull me over though. He ended up giving me a warning on the impeding traffic but a ticket for not being able to find my license which has 0 point effect on my record. Thank you kind officer (found the license 10 minutes later. lol)

If you owned rental vacation property, you'd probably have a differing opinion. Off-season rentals (which H2Oi is proud to offer the first weekend of) actually cost the owner of the condo money. Between your broker commission and lower rental rates, most properties lose money off-peak season. Peak season rentals subsidize off-peak and that's where you make your money back.
Also, most people to the "extended weekend" rental which denies two weeks of rental usage for most owners. Now, you might say this is all fine, but take it from someone who owns property, H2Oi does not "help" any condo owners, it just lines their broker's pockets.

I think you mean to say what are the chances the show itself won't be allowed there because no1 will do the venue.
The city can't simply just not allow us in. They can't setup a road block and say oh you drive vw or audi, you here for h2o? Sorry we won't allow entry to oc.
Try that **** and there will be some court cases.

I can sum up this whole thread.
Dicks gotta act hard, and pussies gotta bleed.

Interesting...
My condo owner posted in a thread about h2oi, I responded. He pocketed about $500 for the weekend which was previously unbooked with no signs of anyone else wanting it.
He reached out to the community, avoided his broker, filled a vacant weekend, gave himself some cash and got a repeat client. I will rent from him any time I'm in OC from now on.
Maybe other owners need to be more savvy?

That's the key to it, if you avoid the rental company or a brokerage firm, then yes, you'll pocket money. However, most vacation property owners don't want to micromanage their holdings. I know that the ones I'm involved with prefer not to. Also remember that with a direct rental, generally unless the owner is holding over a large security deposit, liability for any damage rents with the owner himself, so, I'd imagine that guy gave you some extra scrutiny to see you weren't doing the normal thing of renting to 20 douchebags that pile 5 people in every room and three people in every closet, haha.
But, +1 for the guy you rented from. Sounds like an awesome deal and a good guy to work with in the future. We've worked with the same building now for the past few years and I have to say, I have no complaints on where we've stayed.

yea. Second cop got me as I was attempting to pull into the parking lot. After I explained myself, he asked for ID and registration. Couldn't find my current ID so I gave him my expired one so he would still have my driver's license number and look me up to make sure everything is in good standing. Got a $50 fine for not being able to show ID upon request. He knew I wouldn't bother battling it since it cost more than that to drive back up there. whatevs
