i'm no wheel expert, but i don't think they are RSes. they look more like the bbs wheels that bmw put on 5 series cars with "M sport" upgrades. if that's the case, they aren't worth a whole heck of a lot. those other mods aren't the kinds of things that do much for resale.

i would LOVE to have a 6 speed 4 door candy white gti. if i found one with a real deal warranty for anything close to what i paid for my new passat, i would have done it. that car has a million red flags higher up on the list, but i'm going to go ahead and expose my prejudice: i would NEVER buy a car that had been bagged. i don't know if the science bears me out, but there, i said it.

the father should relist the car presented at a reasonable ride height without stickers and goofy hatch speakers and say that it's his ride that he spared no expense and babied. what's his target demo? icy hot stunnaz? 100% this kid wastes his tuition money and is driving a mkiii to his new fast food gig by next february. stupid, stupid dad. probably buys his hoez implants and talks about how much they cost, too.

Well like the ad states they aren't "RSs" they are "Super RSs" which, while they look similar, are different from RSs. They are two piece as opposed to three and the wheel face has been stretched to fit the 18" barrel (RSs generally don't come bigger than 17"). Lips look a little different from standard RSs as well.

Never understood the amount of rage rich kids bring to TCL. WHY DO YOU CARE HOW PEOPLE SPEND THEIR MONEY?

So his dad bought him a car. WHY ARE YOU MAD ABOUT IT?

    Never understood it.

If im able, im gonna buy my son what ever he wants.

I am completely sold that these girls are in highschool, because almost every single 15 year old you see these days(the ones that aren't pregnant) do not by any means look 15. So yeah I think they are in highschool, maybe even younger.

Personally I would buy my kid a reasonable car that suited his age and maturity level. Like a beater that needs work.

Because in HS driving is a privilege, not a right. If he can't keep up with it then he can take the bus.

So his parents bought him a car and spend their money on upgrades so what? Maybe he deserves it, who cares... stop judging!

What do you know about the situation? Who are you to determine what is deserving and what isn't? Is that your money? No , STFU.
I could care less why somebody spend their money on their kids. What, its falling down on a "hipster" and TCL to give parental advice

Personally, I like the car. It looks clean and well looked after. I would have killed to have a similar car (and hotties) in High School.

Fact is, the kid is/was in high school. What do you expect? Does he look like a douche? Well, yes but a lot of high-school aged kids are... and many of us that post here probably were too... and many still are, (myself included, at times).

So what if his parents got him a ride? if your dad offers you a brand new GTi youd say no? I don't think so. Everyone here hating on him is a savage piece of sh/t and is JULOUS

meanwhile when i was 16 i can say i got myself a free GTI, did lots of mods and paid up for them by selling ad space on a website i built during that time (i didnt intend for it to make $ but i kept getting offers)..accumulated no less than $37,000 in 2 years.

Dude looking at those pics in 10 years - "Man, I am so cool. I still got it. Why move out when I have a whole wing to myself at my parents?"

Chicks looking at those pics in 10 years - "What the **** were we doing hanging around with that little dousche? Oh yeah, his parents let him have parties in their house and bought us booze."

All I know is, I would have loved to have that car in HS. Or even now!

Well off/affluent/rich DOES NOT automatically equal "spoiled". Stop judging so hard. Hating (for lack of a better term) on this kid doesn't make you any cooler.

If you were in high school and your dad/parents gave you a new car and a budget to make it awesome, would you turn it away and say "No dad, I'd rather have a 1991 toyota corolla"? No you wouldn't. You'd take the car and rock the hell out of it. Just because you are gifted something does not mean that you aren't able to treat it with respect and appreciate it.

Oh and for the "bought not built" derpbags - A professional shop like the one his car was taken to has the means and knowledge to do the work at a higher quality and precision than almost all of the DIYers on this site. I do all my own work (welding, painting, maintenance, fabrication, bodywork, interior) and have DIY'd just about everything on all my cars... and guess what? If I had the means I'd rather drop it off at the best shop I could find and have the work done there, probably faster and at a higher quality than I could do.

what is there to be jealous of? because my father didnt buy my car, bags, wheels, etc?

youre missing the original point, there is a 99% chance the kid is a spoiled brat - walks around acting like the baller he ISN'T on his dads coin and probably talks about swag entirely too often...

if that didnt get across, look at the suit he is wearing to what appears to a be a prom of sorts. now think back to high school dances and the douches that used to wear top hats and a cane to be little attention whores.

i think thats the gist of it.

Word. All my HS friends that were well off and had parents that bought them nice cars are doing well for themselves. Either on their own, or taking over the family business, but there's nothing wrong with providing nice things if you have the money to do so.

You're not hindering them. If anything, they will have more of a feel for nice things, how to treat them and have experienced the world more, giving them an edge in most certain situations where graces are called for.

It all comes down to the person. I've known Dollar Menunaires-types spoiled rotten and "ballin outta control" in their used Infinity G35, and on the flipside actual millionaires who are just regular people, not out to flaunt their wealth or prove to the world how great they are.

Just because you are born into a certain circumstance does not dictate that you will be a certain type of person, right?
