does anyone know where to find parts that are not offered by the parts store or VW specialty stores?

i am trying to find a new, stock differential for an 02A (ATA) early corrado transmission. i have no need for a performance diff and am tapped for cash from this 020-02a swap. mine's kinda chunky and loose feeling while the 020 diff feels like posi. when turned by hand.
if we had some ham, we could have some ham and cheese sandwiches if we had some cheese.

020's and 02A's are assembled differently. 02a's are "loose" compared to an 020.
If it is damaged, just get a used one, they are available. i think i even have 2. Other than that, why do you think its damaged? Have it dissasembled and checked. before spending more money.

sorry for slow response. i'm really busy with this dang thing. when i spin it while holding the clutch still, it spins freely and while i hold the clutch and the other side of the diff still, it gives a little slack and ka-chunk sound. i could try to record this event, but i dont know how that will turn out...
