I am looking to buy a used Passat and love the look of the updated 2010 interior and newer tech (bluetooth, nicer steering wheel, gauges). I have noticed so far that the two sedans I looked at did not have the rear sunshade in the doors? Is this normal? Can I retrofit door panels with the sunshades?

I have also been looking for 2010 Wagons, but they seem extremely rare.

You can retrofit it because it didn't come like that from factory
Unitronic > APR Switched from APR to UNI and never looking back

The B6 post-2008 was stripped of a lot of options. VW moved most of the luxury to the CC. To your specific question, I think you can retrofit the rear door window sunshades.

Is the DSG a better transmission for the 2.0T (once all the firmwares updates are applied?)

way better transmission.. shifts so fast but you have to remember that its an automated manual and not a true automatic. the shifts might not be as smooth. I would get the DSG flash from unitronic an fix all the problems

The 2010 wagon had the shades as a standard feature so finding parts should be fairly easy.
