I just picked up this complete and running 16v for parts:

As you can see, FULL of nice Euro goodies. As well, rebuilt motor full of Autotech upgrades including cams and pistons. Bilstein Sports with Neuspeed race springs...and Euro bumpers. FINALLY!

Before the conservationists chime in, the body is far rougher than it looks, it needs complete brakes all around, and worst of all it needs an inspection to be plated, so it'll never pass without $$$$$ of work. The car will be stripped to the bare bones, and all the parts will be used on my Scirocco or sold (bumpers, suspension, possibly the exhaust and sunroof going on mine).

Now, the question I have is whether I should install the complete 50mm intake that's on the parts car. My Scirocco is a 2.0 (16v obviously) with a Eurosport header and 2 1/4 exhaust exiting in an OEM G60 muffler. Will it make a worthwhile difference in performance?

Here is a quote from one of the many threads on this topic.

"TT engine dyno showed a 7hp increase on a stock 1.8 16V all up top of course but hey, it's a 16V."

Since you have one I say throw it on, installing cams along with it would definitely help even more

    Hey nice find!

If you decide to part it out let me know what you are going to sell. I am looking for a dash, front seats and Euro lights.

I seem to recall reading that the 50 mm intake is undesireable for daily driving because of a loss in low end performance?
