      ** UPDATE**
Strava found this post and reached out with suggestions to fix my problem. Everything is Kosher now. A big goes out to Strava.

I have been using Strava on my iPhone 4G without any problems. Updated my phone Thursday to iOS 6.0 and went for a ride Saturday.

      now it looks like this...
      http://app.strava.com/rides/23610579
no segments, jumping rivers, flying over towns and mountains....

      compared to this....

      any suggestions?

      thanks

      Derek

I have used MapMyRide on my 3GS with great results, but I am terrified of what happens with that app when I upgrade to Iphone5 tomorrow.

      I hate Iphone.

That seems to be more of a signal issue. When I used to run my phone in a pouch or camelback it would do that. Where it wouldn't receive every ping and draw straight lines.

But I have probably done 6-7 rides w/ Ios6, and have had no problems at all. Mostly mountain biking too, where riding in some isolated spots.

I also haven't had an issue with Strava on iOS6. Definitely some sort of signal issue it seems. Maybe there is an update for Strava? Getting any weird GPS issues when using maps or other apps?

It might be a signal issue. It is just weird to me because i have done many rides from Center City Philadelphia to Wissahickon over the last year with Strava and haven't had any problems. I will check for an update.

      thanks

Using my Motorola Razr I had the same problem you do, after my ICS update, turned out to be a battery saver app shutting down my GPS after a certain time. Playing with the settings didn't help, disabling the app completely did though.

I used to have this problem all the time on my Android.

Never had it -yet- on my iPhone... It's signal/GPS satellite acquisition related as far as I can tell.
