I need some help finding a new shifting knob part for my 2002 jetta 1.8T, my cousin was trying to fix a problem the car had and he thought it was inside the shifting knob (turned out to be the alternator..yeah he was far off) anyway he tried to remove the knob by pulling it up with all his strength and being the idiot he is he broke the tip of the plastic which shifts the gears inside the knob, i need to know where i can buy the part that broke or where i can buy a whole new shift knob part that fits my car, any help would be appreciated.

Also, it seems like there was a thread here a while back where someone made that little plastic piece out of some scrap metal they had lying around. I looked for the thread, but could not find it.![]()
