It does sort of make you chuckle as the 2+2's are the spendiest of the new cars. Hell, I rarely see a new FF for less than $385k. That is serious money.
    A couple of my favorites...

    456M w/ Tubi exhaust

    Plus 575 wheels

    69 Daytona

    Plus Borranis

I never warmed up to the looks of the 456. But the 550...that's a true GT in the old school Ferrari tradition. Love it. And they aren't terrible to buy these days. Now maintaining it is another matter, of course...

I didn't realize that was someone's cars and coffee. It's definitely the best one. It's not often I can make one for any length of time or bring a Ferrari. Great ever though, isn't it?

If you're talking about Stephen's F40 as the other one that is heavily modded, there are two others in the area.

I was trying to figure out when you got coffee as I thought we met up in the coffee place. Then I realized I moved my car after.

Btw, made it to the destination. eS2 was amazing.

Yeah, that was later on. Agreed, that is the best C&C (not TMd lol) but I have not gone to the Park Meadows one.

NICE, I'm sure it enjoyed the cold air! Mine is 20% into the work I was talking about earlier. UPS didn't show till after 6pm

I guess it's that I originally saw the Euro version and a car like this is so iconic that almost any changes are bad then.

Anyway, back to beautiful Ferraris. The 456 is awesome, especially the early interior.

I will probably one day. AH gave me the one of him on the Gavia after I lent him one of my bikes for a few weeks and GL gave me the one of the 89 WC after we met at a race I was doing in Belgium years ago. They're cool posters but nice where they are.

I love the 456. so understated. As much as I adore the 550, I don't feel as though it aged as gracefully. And I like big GT cars.

So much want in this right here:

And thanks for the thread Sherpa. I can't stop thinking about your F40, and your attitude in buying it. I have an understanding future wife, so maybe I can make something similar happen (although I won't be able to go F40 crazy. the reality of being a professor)

    ITT: Inspirational stuff.

It's cool how the show took off these last few years, even today in the cold and drizzle we had crazy people show up. One even in the new Morgan 3wheeler Brrrr....

Should have worded my response better, nobody owns a car show, I'm just happy to see what it has evolved into.

Damnit...I knew I should've have gone today! Does the Lafayette C&C happen year round? I've been to several of them but it's always been during the Spring and Summer.

Yep, every 1st Sat! I would have gone but UPS was late yesterday and my car is apart (and I'm hanging out with 3 <5yr olds lol). Next month (maybe)!

I bet next month is 55 degrees and bright sunshine!

It really is a great event. The only thing that comes remotely close to a negative about bringing the Ferrari is that I don't get to walk around and see as many other cars as I would like because I either keep getting asked questions and dealing with the crowd a little. Although it's kind of a moot issue as last time I went with the Audi I ran into so many old friends that had not seen me in years that I spent all my time catching up and not enough looking at the sweet cars.

I love that there are so many old cars at that c&c, especially the Porsches and Jags, although its always a treat when a whole crew of esprits shows up.

this thread has officially just become enough motivation for me to finally pull the trigger on relocating out west.

i had a crack at a 456 a few years ago, and just barely did fail to pull the trigger (auto). what a beautiful piece.

Every time I see a Fit drive down the road, I wonder if the owner has a F40 in addition.

Congrats on the F40 and being open. I used to live in the same area as Jas (RufMD) and he welcomed me to his home 2x to see his collection (at the time F40, F50, 360CS, Carerra GT, 911 GT3RS) in 2008 and let me sit in his US F40 with 1640 miles at the time. He even started it. It was fantastic.

I have never been one to have a "collection." I just don't know how you drive that many cars or take care of them properly. I don't know why people own cars they don't want to drive because they don't want to put miles on it. I'm not saying that's wrong; I'm only saying I don't get it as it doesn't appeal to me. That said, I am glad that there are people that do because they really have a neat group of cars to look at and admire and it's neat to hear the comparisons. Plus some of the owners, like Jas, are truly wonderful and exception people.

Also, my car doesn't get started unless its going to get driven on a real drive. I don't think it's good for a car to start and idle and then get turned off. It builds just enough condensation to do damage to cylinder walls and also the oil temp never gets properly high, not to mention there's no load on the moving parts and such that need it. I'm not judging, just saying that I don't do it.

The other thing I'm super OCD about are rpm's and oil temps. I am really careful about warming up the car properly before any real rpm's and load.
